[ Vi's baby comes first, the labor pangs beginning around 9pm on the 14th, while she's alone, watching TV.

So the real question is, when do we install a ball pit in the castle? And if Wynn says no, you can bet I'll put one in mine, for when you guys visit. [ hi ]

[Myri lets out a small laugh.]

I think it may be awhile yet before she's ready to crawl around a ball pit. But I'll take any excuse to invade your castle for a few days.

Maybe a stuffed animal pit for now. ... A really shallow one.

You and Des are on the same page there, I think. [She points to the stuffed snow leopard nearby.] He named it Cornelius.

Corny for short, I hope.

Seeing as it came from Des, I can't imagine he would stand to let the poor creature exist without some sort of nickname. [She manages a little smile, finding it easier to joke a bit more when she has a source of joy close at hand.]

So how does it feel to be an Uncle twice over so quickly?

Are you kidding? I've never gotten to hang around babies before. This is awesome.

You'll have ample opportunity now. Careful, though. I'm sure Vi will ask for Lucia to be crowned some manner of royalty before long.

[It just sounds like a Vi thing tbh. Little baby Duchess or something.]

I'll get her a little crown made. Well. Two crowns.

[Myri didn't really intend for her child to be included in that, but it's just like Mark to make sure both girls are treated like royalty.]

Spoiled before they even know how to walk. Everyone told me that's how it would be. I'm only really starting to see how true it is.

Oh yes. I feel so lucky to have all of you here to help me, to love her as much as you do.

Couldn't turn it off if we tried.

[She beams at him, finding that it's easier to manage a genuine smile in his presence.]

I'm glad. Now, would you like to hold your youngest niece?

Of course! She's your family now too- just as she's mine.

[ he takes the baby unsteadily (handle animal 10 ), but it's impossible to deny how enamored he looks of her ]</small Heyy, little gal. It's your uncle Mark.

[Myri fights her instinct to adjust the way he's holding the infant. He needs to learn to be comfortable with her on his own, after all. This is good for him.]

It's going to be some time before she can say hello back, but I think she manages in her own way.

Dang right she does. Look at that little smile. [ he waggles a finger in her face ] Aren't you just the cutest little thing I ever saw, yes you are.

[The baby makes a small gurgling noise, blinking big green eyes at Mark's finger. Myri just laughs and shakes her head at their antics. And then they spent some time doing adorable baby things for as much time as Mark could stand. Or until the baby needs to eat or have her diaper changed. Mark probably wouldn't want to stick around for either of those.]
