About a month before the intended date for the baby shower, Felicity and Elena send out invitations to everyone in the castle (save Vi, because surprise is the way to go) that there will be a small garden baby shower for the mom-to-be. Everyone is invited, and the places that Vi is registered are listed within the invitation, but if all else fails, bring flowers.

The party itself will also be filled with flowers when the guests start to arrive, scattered about several small tables where guests are free to sit, mix and mingle. Each table has a small tin in the middle with pens and note cards, so that guests can write down items for Vi's "Baby Bucket List," fun milestones for the baby's first year. There is also another set of tables with plain white onesies, as well as a number of art supplies so that guests can decorate them. There's a large open space between the two areas so guests can move easily between them and also use the space to talk if they didn't wish to participate in either activity.

Towards the back of the space there is a table for presents, as well as a long table with sandwiches, drinks and other refreshments. There's also a small sitting area of chairs with no tables, which is probably where Vi will be for most of the afternoon. If you're looking for Felicity, she can be seen bouncing around putting the finishing touches on things before she leaves to get Vi, and after she'll be mixing and mingling with the rest of the guests, in between making sure there's still enough food and drinks to go around and that none of the game stations need restocking.

Beyond that, feel free to mix, mingle and have fun!

[ vi doesn't get to dress up so she shows up in her late pregnancy staple of a maxi dress with dirt and grass on the hem like a dirty street urchin. her surprise comes in the form of a squeal and punching felicity in the arm (she shouldn't have!), but it's clear enough from the way she lights up that this was desperately needed and so very, very thoughtful. she hasn't had anything just for her since... her wedding.

(while this is as much for lucia, since she's still tucked away it feels like it's just for vi.)

she can be found perched on a chair opening presents, and making herself a small table to hold stuff on out of roots and vines that burst up from the ground like hello, i'm here. or hanging around the food table shoving stuff (aka cake) in her face. she's not even sorry it's all vegetarian, y'all, it's her day. or sipping non-alcoholic wine and marveling at the concept of non-alcoholic wine once again. it's a beautiful creation. she can also be found making her own hand drawn onesie, and then laughing for twenty minutes about a onesie with a mustache on it.

she makes sure to aggressively and personally thank every single person for coming. ]

[Her tone is teasing, to indicate she isn't actually hurt by Vi's assault on her arm. Eventually, the insulted face fades to a teasing laughter.]

What was that for?

You could have warned me. I told you I didn't need a shower.

[ she didn't need it, but she didn't realized that she may have wanted one until, you know, she was at it. ]

It is exactly for that reason that I didn't, because if I did warn you, you probably would have said no.

[Because she knows you, Vi, and you don't like it for people to go through trouble on your behalf, but this isn't trouble. This is fun.]

I mean... yeah, maybe. Probably. [ she shrugs like yeah, you're right, that's legit. ] You know I don't need stuff for her though. I did all that retail therapy already.

That is not the only reason you throw a baby shower. We can also do it because we want to celebrate the fact that you're awesome, and you're going to be bringing another awesome person into the world.

[Listen to her. She knows these things.]

That sounds like a load of crap, but I'm self obsessed enough to like to hear that I'm awesome. I'll defer to you.

[ a beat. ] This time.

[Myri makes a onesie with green and orange swirls on the white background, looking quite artistic, but possibly strange without some explanation. Once it's finished and everything is dry, she carries it over to Vi, taking a seat beside her.]

When I access my healing ability, I can see something- like a cord that tethers each person to this life. Each cord is different, colors and patterns are never quite the same. I hope you don't mind, but the last time you let me feel her kick? I took a quick look, and... [She holds out the onesie to Vi.]

[ she looks down at it, tracing her finger along the orange swirls as a carpet of purple and orange flowers sprout under their chairs. ]

Hers is orange? [ she knows hers is green, remembers the first time myri told her because she assumed it would be

well, violet. ]

[witchwoman]

With the green and white mixed in. [Which might have to do with Vi and Luthir, respectively. Myri never looked at Luthir's cord. It all happened too fast for her to be able to reach him.]

It's an odd combination, but... strangely beautiful, I think.

[ she seems to understand what the white might be and she looks up at myri with glassy eyes. ]

It's lovely, thank you.

[Myri reaches over and squeezes Vi's hand.]

I can't believe how close we are to meeting them both.

[graveflowers]

[ blinking back the tears, she gives myri a grin. ]

I know. I'm so ready for this pregnancy thing to be done. Just drug me up and get her out of here.

I can... tell. Jeez, guys. [ she pm jumps out of the chair though, surprisingly spry, and starts plucking presents out of mark's arms because it's mark and he can't hug her if he's holding a bunch of gifts. ] When did you...? I didn't know you were coming!

[ lmao vi you didn't know there was a party, you dumbo. ]

[ He was late to the party, but he arrived with a lavender wrapped box, and Venus padding along beside him, she had a lavnder bow around her neck. This was kitty dress up time. He moved over to put the box on a table. Inside of his present box was a basket.]

[ when vi spots mars, she hurries over with a bright smile. ]

Hello Vi, the party going good? [ Venus moves forward and mews for her. She still likes this human.]

[ He rubbed the back of his neck.] Though I gotta admit, last time I was at something like this I was still a kid. I hope I got the right thing, if not just let me know, I keep receipts to everything.
