The ballroom of the hotel is a study in elegance, which isn't surprising considering who the bride is, but perhaps more surprising are the personal touches and sheer sentimentality of the room. Circular tables are scattered on the edge of the dance floor, covered with ivory tablecloths, and while there isn't a seating chart, everyone invited can find a place card with their name scrawled on it so they can claim their spot at a table. Along with the simple centerpieces and floral arrangements, each table holds a different photo of Lila and Sylar, often times selfies, and a location that has some sentimental meaning. London, Nando's, New York, Chicago, Tahiti, Andres, etc. (The tiny table for two by the dessert table is labeled Oregon.)

Once they're presented to the guests, Lila and Sylar have their first dance, to get it out of the way and so no one can ruin it. After a dinner of steak, crab stuffed sole, creamed potatoes, and late summer vegetables, the DJ starts playing dance music and probably won't stop all night if we're being honest. Castle party music this is not. There is a brief pause to cut the cake and so Lila can inhale about twelve petit fours by herself, but it's party, party, party all night long. And, oh yeah, it's an open bar.

[Cora (disguise 18) is in a dress, at a wedding, where she brought an appropriate gift and has a date. She is dangerously close to behaving like a real teenage girl at the moment, which is probably startling, but things have been going well for her lately. And she is happy for Lila which is why she is here to celebrate and have a good time.

She can be found probably not far from Abigail, Henry or Stiles for most of the evening, either at the table they claimed for the four of them or linger on the edges of the room or possibly even dancing! We just don't know.

Regardless she is happy to see familiar faces and always interested in meeting new ones too. Have at her.]

[ fresh from a dizzying spell dancing with stiles, abigail wordlessly grabs cora's hand and drags her away from the table, calling "bathroom!" over her shoulder, which is also the only explanation cora gets.

she really does have to pee though, she just doesn't want to go alone. they're about halfway across the hall when she finally speaks. it's not important, she just wanted to hang out with her best friend for a few minutes, okay. ]

This is my second wedding, but I can't figure out which one I like more.

[Cora lets herself be dragged away because its Abigail and she rarely says no to Abigail ever. She glances to her as they walk and shrugs a bit.]

This is my first one. At least the first one that I can remember. Who was your first?

The one on Andres. I went with Stiles, sort of, and Alice made Will go, too. [ so she had people to hang out with since she didn't know either myri or finnick. ]

[impetere]

[Yep, Cora completely bombed that wisdom check to remember Myri and Finnick's wedding (wisdom crit fail). She probably had other things on her mind.]

I didn't even know there was a wedding on Andres.

I think it was when you went to Brussels. [ so really there was no reason for her to know. ]

[Ahh that would explain it.]

Right. Was it a nice wedding?

[theminotaur]

I think so, I really only went to the reception thing and that was pretty nice. But it might have just been because it was in a palace. [ she'd teased stiles for being impressed by a palace when they lived in a castle, but it was really just because she was impressed too. ]

[impetere]

[She smiles a bit at that.]

Sounds a bit like a fairy tale.

[Not that that's something Cora is striving for, but it still sounds nice, at least.]

Like the Little Mermaid's wedding. Minus seals and starfish on people's faces, yeah.

[She smirks a bit.]

Is it weird that I might have found that more fun?

[theminotaur]

[ abigail laughs, shoving open the door to the bathroom. ] Kind of. What if the starfish hit you in the face?

[impetere]

[She laughs.]

Okay. Fair point. It should not happen while I'm in this dress, anyway.

[theminotaur]

What would Thea do if you ruined that dress? [ she ducks into a stall because she did actually have to pee. ]

[impetere]

[Cora is just going to move to the sink, making sure her hair still looks right.]

She wields a katana and a bow. I think I'm better off not knowing.

[ Henry (disguise 16) manages to find a suit he thinks looks decent enough for this type of occasion. It's not overly formal, but not too casual, either. He brings a small gift and sets it down with the other gifts, near Cora's. Mostly, he just sticks close to her, though sometimes wanders a little to mingle.

When they're at the table eating and it's just the two of them, Henry leans in with a little smile on his face. ]

You look really beautiful, by the way.

[impetere]

[Cora manages to keep from completely blushing at the compliment, mostly because she's having such a good time. She didn't think the wedding would be this much fun, but it has been and she's glad that she has the friends to enjoy this.]

[ Henry wasn't really sure what to expect with this wedding. He knew he was guaranteed to at least have fun with Cora, but really, it's been even better than he thought. Though, he's definitely enjoying the chance to be her date to this whole thing. ]

Thanks. Sometimes I'm pretty good at dressing myself up. [ He smirks a little, just poking fun at himself. ] I've never been to a wedding before, so I didn't even know what to expect, but this is nice.

[She shakes her head.]

Me either. I mean, there might have been one when I was a kid, but if there was, I don't really remember it.

[ Of course, attending a wedding makes him think of the subject itself. Marriage. He's young enough still that it just seems so out of reach and he's not sure what the future holds. ]

What do you think of it? Marriage, I mean. In general.

[impetere]

[Her eyes widen a bit because she ... hasn't really thought about it ... for herself at all and technically this is their first date but she recovers quickly and shrugs.]

It's okay? I mean ... I haven't really thought about it for me.

[wanttobeahero]

[ It seems like such a faraway concept to him. He knows there are some people not much older than him who do get married, but...he really couldn't imagine it. ]

I like...watching other people get married. I just like seeing them happy.

[impetere]

[She nods in agreement.]

Me too.

[And then glancing over to the bride again.]

I don't think I've seen Lila smile this much ... ever. Not really smile, anyway.

[ He looks over at Lila now, too, and a soft smile spreads on his face. ]

I'm really glad they have each other. People should always be that happy.

[ He knows it's not realistic to always be that happy, but he tends to be more of an idealist than most. ]

I agree. Or at least have a happy medium to get back to.

[Because life is always going to get a little bit crazy.]
