wedding ♔ baby we've come a long way

♪ you are the best thing -- ray lamontagne
WHO || Lila & Sylar and invited guests
WHAT || Wedding & Reception
WHERE || Baglioni Hotel London, the Ballroom
WHEN || September 18, 2015; 4PM onwards [backdated]
HOW || ActionspamThe ballroom of the hotel is a study in elegance, which isn't surprising considering who the bride is, but perhaps more surprising are the personal touches and sheer sentimentality of the room. Circular tables are scattered on the edge of the dance floor, covered with ivory tablecloths, and while there isn't a seating chart, everyone invited can find a place card with their name scrawled on it so they can claim their spot at a table. Along with the simple centerpieces and floral arrangements, each table holds a different photo of Lila and Sylar, often times selfies, and a location that has some sentimental meaning. London, Nando's, New York, Chicago, Tahiti, Andres, etc. (The tiny table for two by the dessert table is labeled Oregon.)
Once they're presented to the guests, Lila and Sylar have their first dance, to get it out of the way and so no one can ruin it. After a dinner of steak, crab stuffed sole, creamed potatoes, and late summer vegetables, the DJ starts playing dance music and probably won't stop all night if we're being honest. Castle party music this is not. There is a brief pause to cut the cake and so Lila can inhale about twelve petit fours by herself, but it's party, party, party all night long. And, oh yeah, it's an open bar.

Party's inside, you know. [She says, head cocking to one side.]
no subject
A smile lights across her lips, a little tight as she glances back inside, the drink in her hand already close to finished as a huff of laughter escapes.]
Oh yeah. I'm sure everyone is dying for me to get back in there and be the life of it. [Rose's issues with Lila were hardly a secret. Faye surely knew she was only invited because of Dean.]
I've already had one year in the making conversation tonight. Not sure I'm ready to make it two. [She wasn't so naive as to think she could get through the night without talking to Dimitri as well.]
no subject
You know what helps? Shots.
no subject
Thank god for that. [Exhaling a shake of laughter.
There is a hesitation at shots but it's only a brief one.] If by that you mean many? Sign me up.
no subject
I can snag a bottle and just bring it out here if you're really not feeling the crowd in there.
no subject
I'm working my way back up to the crowd out there... [Read: I did the ex best friend I don't know if I'm ready for the ex-boyfriend.
Though getting drunk with the ex-frenemy is perfectly okay.]
The Vod... quila? Might help with that. [In other words yes please balcony drinking to start with.]
no subject
Getting people drunk often helps with that right? Faye is the best at this.
In truth, she doesn't find Rose all that upsetting anymore. They've bonded over some things, gotten past their differences. They won't ever be besties, but they can get along fairly well.]
I got the half empty one. I figure half a bottle of this shit is more than enough to share. We want you loosened up, not blacking out. [She holds out a couple of shot glasses she swiped as well so Rose can hold those while she pours.]
no subject
Nothing at all.]
You sure about that? [Throwing a wry grin Faye's way as she takes hold of the shot glasses to allow her to pour. They got through pizza together and actually had a... good time? Rose figures if they can master drinking together they might have done a complete 180.] Though I don't think Dean would appreciate having to carry me up to bed.
no subject
Uh, the best part about a wedding is having really intense not married sex afterwards. You want to be conscious for that, pretty sure.
[She takes her shot glass and holds it out in toast.]
no subject
[She raises her shot glass and as if that story alone is reason enough, Rose takes the shot and -oh wow. LMAO. Crit Fails her Fort Save. She so spits that shit right back out.]
Fucking - christ! If I keep drinking that? I'm not going to be conscious for a week.
no subject
Helen like- the one in the Hoard? So you and Dean and... her..? [Enjoy that image you didn't want at all, Rose.]
1/3
2/3
3/3
[Yeah Helen you can just be grateful that Rose's Will Save was good enough she didn't drop the 'Wrong Couple' bomb. (26).]
Just - noooo. [So horrified that she doesn't care how ghastly that alcohol is. Rose is going to pour herself another shot! The shock of that image is so great that she fares much better this time when she knocks it back. (Fort 32 lol)] So much no.
no subject
You might want to open with that next time, just saying.
no subject
You know a year ago... had somebody told me I'd be doing this? Joking with you about sex with Dean on a balcony at Lila's wedding? [She shakes her head, still smiling, just letting that thought linger.
They'd both come a very long way since they first joined the Knights.]
no subject
I don't even feel like that person anymore. Which is good, I guess. I was kind of a bitch.
[She still is. Just a different flavor.]
no subject
She bobs her head from side to side, able at least to acknowledge her own shortcomings now.] And I was... angry. A lot.
[Then again, like Faye she still is but like Faye, it was different these days.]
Now I just can't be bothered, you know?
no subject
[Well that was morbid but it's a valid option tbh.]
Either way- I'm glad we're not at each other's throats anymore. You're actually not as awful as I thought.
no subject
Perspective does that I guess.
Uh - Thanks, [Faye's words causing her to snort with amusement and shake her head.] I think? [She'll take it.] It made it easier not to hate you once I realized you didn't actually want me dead, so.
no subject
I'm just glad you haven't punched me again.
no subject
You should be, I punch a lot harder now than I did back then. [Well. True. Rose however offers her a wry half grin and lifts one shoulder in a shrug.] Now if I could say the same about you setting me on fire. [The mere fact that she can joke about it, speaks volumes.]
no subject
[But things are different now. Better. Weird, but better. She's quiet for a moment, the humor slowly fading from her expression as she weighs the options of whether or not to say something.]
So it's probably not my business, [When has that ever stopped her.] but I know things with you and Lissa have always been kind of ...weird. And if there was anything I could do to help? [She gives a shrug of one shoulder before moving to start pouring another set of shots, because she's not going to stand there because offering to be helpful makes her uncomfortable.]
no subject
[It's delivered as a joke and yet, it's not lost on Rose how much they have grown. Of course, the mention of Lissa could threaten to derail that growth and while Rose doesn't respond badly exactly, there's still a definite tension when the subject comes up.]
It's... [She sighs, never really sure how to make people understand her side of things.]
Complicated? I mean it's not like there's a handbook for how to deal with having your brain tuned into somebody elses thoughts all the time. [Rose just assumes that Faye knows about the bond to be honest.]
