The ballroom of the hotel is a study in elegance, which isn't surprising considering who the bride is, but perhaps more surprising are the personal touches and sheer sentimentality of the room. Circular tables are scattered on the edge of the dance floor, covered with ivory tablecloths, and while there isn't a seating chart, everyone invited can find a place card with their name scrawled on it so they can claim their spot at a table. Along with the simple centerpieces and floral arrangements, each table holds a different photo of Lila and Sylar, often times selfies, and a location that has some sentimental meaning. London, Nando's, New York, Chicago, Tahiti, Andres, etc. (The tiny table for two by the dessert table is labeled Oregon.)

Once they're presented to the guests, Lila and Sylar have their first dance, to get it out of the way and so no one can ruin it. After a dinner of steak, crab stuffed sole, creamed potatoes, and late summer vegetables, the DJ starts playing dance music and probably won't stop all night if we're being honest. Castle party music this is not. There is a brief pause to cut the cake and so Lila can inhale about twelve petit fours by herself, but it's party, party, party all night long. And, oh yeah, it's an open bar.

David! [ repurposing her grammy's dress for her first night out post-baby without the baby, vi looks bright and excited, if not still perpetually exhausted, as she bounces over to david and grabs his hand, giving it a yank.

[He's used to Vi not asking, to be honest. She's gotten what she wanted from him pretty much since the moment he met her.

But not in a bad way.

He lets her pull him onto the dance floor, before glancing down at himself.]

She's a doll. [ /twirls! her dance check is a respectable 16 so she won't be stepping on david's toes, tbh, and it's a moderately slow song so he doesn't have to do too much work. ] And it just proves that behind every well dressed man there really is a woman shaking her head in frustration.

[Even with a moderately slow song, he somehow manages to fail miserably (dance 5). Maybe he's just getting all his bad rolls out before he has to dance with Zatanna - its entirely possible.]

For me, at least, that's almost always true.

Behind me is usually Elena telling me whether I look cute or not so it applies to women, too, don't worry.

[ ain't even fussed about his bad dancing, she's light on her feet. ]

Probably why it's always better to work with a team.

[ sometimes their teams can be kind of a clusterfuck, but it's the thought that counts. ]

I'm gonna go steal Felicity for the next dance, so you're free for this one, David. [ she steps back as the song ends, pointing a finger at him. ] But I'll be back, mister.

[He smirks a bit at that before nodding.]

I'll make sure I'm prepared.

[And with that he will wander back to the bar because yeah - preparing may need a drink or two. /scene]
