The ballroom of the hotel is a study in elegance, which isn't surprising considering who the bride is, but perhaps more surprising are the personal touches and sheer sentimentality of the room. Circular tables are scattered on the edge of the dance floor, covered with ivory tablecloths, and while there isn't a seating chart, everyone invited can find a place card with their name scrawled on it so they can claim their spot at a table. Along with the simple centerpieces and floral arrangements, each table holds a different photo of Lila and Sylar, often times selfies, and a location that has some sentimental meaning. London, Nando's, New York, Chicago, Tahiti, Andres, etc. (The tiny table for two by the dessert table is labeled Oregon.)

Once they're presented to the guests, Lila and Sylar have their first dance, to get it out of the way and so no one can ruin it. After a dinner of steak, crab stuffed sole, creamed potatoes, and late summer vegetables, the DJ starts playing dance music and probably won't stop all night if we're being honest. Castle party music this is not. There is a brief pause to cut the cake and so Lila can inhale about twelve petit fours by herself, but it's party, party, party all night long. And, oh yeah, it's an open bar.

[Dancing is not exactly David's forte either. He'll just be over here, hanging out with the drinks and the food and watching everyone dance, because this is his role during every party ever. He goes for a refill when he spots Willow and offers her a small smile.]

Are you having fun?

Yes! [She's so eager, quick to answer and happy to show just how awesome she feels.]

[He nods with a small smile.]

It's been a while since I've been to a wedding like this.

This is my first! That I can remember anyway... But it's been really fun.

[He nods.]

Yeah, it has. Do you know the bride or the groom?

[olreliable]

Lila! She's helped me out a few times around the library. You?

[generaldavideus]

Same. We've been on a few missions together.

[Or more like its just the same long complicated mission, but he likes Lila. Even when Lila doesn't necessarily like him.]

That's great. I'm Willow by the way. [she grins, just so happy to be here]</small€

[He nods in return, before taking another sip of his drink.]

Have you been in the Knights a while?

Not too long. Andres was my first mission? [She was such a baby squire then. Not that it's... been that long since then.]

[He gives a small shrug.]

We're at almost a year now. That's a pretty long time.

[He's only been here a couple more than that.]

[olreliable]

Maybe. I just keep hearing about people who have been here for...way longer so I guess it doesn't feel like that big of a deal.

[Plus she's only had one other mission since Andres. She doesn't feel all that experienced.]

[He nods.]

That's true. But I guess it all depends on what feels like a long time to you.

So... What sect are you in? [She can sort of guess but she doesn't want to assume]

[The look that comes with it is amused, because he is pretty obvious.]

If my sheer size doesn't give me away.

I didn't want to assume. [She says with a sheepish smile.]

You could have been like....part wizard, part body builder for all I knew.

I appreciate not assuming. But magic isn't really my thing.

[In fact, he has a pretty strong aversion to it as a general rule but he's slowly but surely getting more accepting of it.]

No? I mean it's not for everyone, but just because you don't know much about it doesn't mean you can't learn! I only really started to learn once I got here.

[generaldavideus]

Oh, I ...

[he pauses for a moment before giving a small shrug.]

We have a very complicated relationship. I haven't always had the best experiences with it.

[olreliable]

Oh... sorry? [as if she's here to be the spokesperson for all of magic.]

What kind of not the best? If you don't mind me asking.

[Small but deep breath. Here we go.]

My ex-girlfriend used her magic to manipulate my decisions and made sure I would always come for her no matter the risk to myself or others. I thought I was doing it because I cared for her, but she was pulling the strings the entire time.

[Well...that's pretty bad.]

I guess anyone would be kind of...nervous about it after that.

[generaldavideus]

[He nods slowly.]

I'm getting used to it though. The idea that it can be used for better things. It just makes me a little ... jumpy sometimes.
