The Knights have spent a couple of years now attempting to trace the source of a series of mysterious deliveries of crates to local businesses that contained monsters, marked 'PTC'.  They learned last year that PTC is a Trade Consortium, run by a man named Estavan, but that there was some kind of internal conflict between the Executive Officer and other partners, who were attempting to wrest control of the Consortium from him and might be sending the crates to customer who were remaining loyal to him.  Estavan has refused to meet with the Knights, and so Wynn has decided the Knights must take this into their own hands, and is sending a force to infiltrate his Estate while he is out of it.  Hopefully, they can find some paperwork that will help get to the root of the problem.  The isolated home is surrounded by a 12 foot high iron fence, which they know to be electrified, and the area is quiet as they approach.

[Kate takes a moment to study the scene as they approach, letting her eyes wander over the gate in particular as that's there first obstacle to the rest of the house, as well as listening for unexpected security (spot 31, listen 26).]

I think we should either try and pick the lock on the gate first or try and find a way to kill the power to the gate somehow.

Well, given that I don't relish being electrocuted I'm thinking maybe lock picking isn't wise.

[ Alec may be joking, but he's definitely keeping his eyes and ears open (spot 31 and listen 30). He doesn't really like getting shot at either. He glances at Kate. ]

I've jumped higher than that fence. [ He thinks. ] I could jump it and get inside the perimeter to shut off the power? [ He tilts his head. ] Your call.

[ Did someone say lock picking? ]

Oh locks are ten a penny. Literally actually-- they can be very cheap, you know. If you know the right bloke. H[ e pulls his screwdriver from his pocket and tosses it once in his hand. ]

Probably best to make sure there's nothing nasty with sharp bitey teeth on the other side first though eh?

[ there are no trees near the fence, nothing to climb onto that rises higher than the top of the iron barricade. there's also no visible signs of life or other security milling about. cordelia folds her arms and stares past the fence at the big manor. ] This looks like the kind of place where they're likely to release the hounds the second we get in. [ a beat ] So yeah, I think Alec should check first.

[Kate smirks a bit at that, before turning to Alec and eyeing the height of the fence.]

Are you sure you'll be able to clear that?

[You may be a little too cocky for her taste but that doesn't mean she wants you to get electrocuted.]

Oh do let him try. It seems entertaining, if nothing else.

[ He looks at Val'drin like bitch please. ]

Yeah. Manticore had higher fences than this douchebag. I hopped those. [ He side steps away from them and rolls his shoulders. ] I got this. FYI--any furry friends that try to bite me are dead. [ As in he will so kill some dogs. ]

I feel like someone should be recording this. [ a beat... and then she pulls out her phone. ] Ok, go ahead.

[ He gives her a look and manages to flip off the camera because whatever. You people have no faith. He steps back and looks up at the fence. Then he jumps (jump 25). If he electrocutes himself to death make sure that someone hot cries over his body. ]

[ annnnnnnnnd a 25 jump only gets him... halfway up before he slams into the fence :| which jolts him intensely before he slams back to the ground and takes 14 electricity dmg, although he can make a fort save DC 15 to take half instead. ] Oh my god! You better not be dead!

That looked like it hurt...

[Phineas is just hoping no-one suggests climbing. Historically speaking, that's never gone well for him - and also always seems to lead to dragons.]

[ That did hurt, but Alec isn't like about to die (fort save 19, 7 dmg). He sits up with the help of Phineas because fuck him that was not fun. He blinks and looks at Cordelia because that's not help, woman. He flexes his fingers. ] Do over. [ He gets to his feet on his own. He rolls his shoulders and tries for it once more (jump nat 20 after spending two action points BECAUSE THAT FENCE WILL BE CONQUERED, 27 total). He's getting over this stupid fence. ]

[Kate is about to stop him because this ISN'T NECESSARY when she can just shoot out the security box, but apparently there's no stopping Alec, so she's just going to watch as he tries again, hoping that he actually makes it this time.]

[ summoning all his supersoldier strength, alec all but flies up an impossible distance... and then lands hard on the other side of the fence (1 dmg). he's inside the well manicured yard, which stretches out before him, a few lights illuminating the drive, some topiaries and statues here and there, but no dogs come running after him with rabies or anything. ]

Well. That was quite nearly impressive.

[ He stays on his feet, but he might feel it come morning. He spins around to face them with a smile. ] Sit tight. [ He's so thankful for the lack of dogs. His feline DNA feels a little more comfortable as he moves in the direction of the security box. ]

[And she will call after him, quietly, probably uselessly:]

Be careful!

Good thing we brought the Six Million Dollar Man, after all.

[ Because I forgot to this earlier--Alec keeps his eyes and ears peeled for anything hinky and the box he needs (spot 25, listen 23). The last thing he wants to become is Fido's chew toy in front of these people. ]

[ annnd he finds the box! however, it does require a card or keycode... ]

Of course. Douchebags need cards and keycodes to start up their mega electric death fence. Why didn't I remember?

[ Sarcasm out the ass. He glances in the direction of the group and sighs. ] Fuck me. This is gonna shock me again. [ In he goes (disable device 19). ]

[ he is sooooo close. he's positive he has it... and then at the last minute, it blinks red at him. ]

Everything going okay in there?

[monticora]

[ He's better than this. He know she is. That doesn't stop him from slamming his fist into the thing (strength 21) because he's frustrated and Cordelia is talking to him like he's taking a Sunday stroll. Fuck you security box. ]

[Kate cringes at the sound of that, before moving further down the fence to see how he's doing.]

Alec? Everything okay?

[ He works his ass off this time because he can hear Kate coming. Fuck that. He's not letting a hot woman see him fuck this up. This will not be a disaster.
