The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ in walks his possibly-future-wife looking rather beautiful (disguise 27) as she loops a lock of hair around her elastic to disguise it. she starts talking before the door has even closed behind her. ]

I know I said I'd leave it in the box on my nightstand, safe and sound, but it just looks so beautiful and I really want it and-- you are not wearing trousers. [ oh, well spotted, pond. she has, undoubtedly, seen rory in his pants before but that was before. before she was future mrs rory. before rory wasn't gay. there's a short span of time where she is silent, broken by a whisper of: ] Well done me.

Yeah.

[And he's going to try not to be awkward about it as his hands just move lower. He's not used to covering up in front of his wife but Amy isn't his wife yet so he's just trying to figure out where the boundaries are.]

Do you mind?

No.

[ her eyebrows jump up playfully for a beat as she pointedly does not look away. ] It's not like you're taking your pants off, Rory, you're putting trousers on-- what the hell are those?

[ and now she has noticed the clothes. ]

[He sighs at her because Amy, why are you so Amy but not, all at the same time. He then glances back to the clothing she indicated.]

[Obviously.]

No. No, they're not. [ she purposefully strides away from the door to his closet, ignoring why she came in here in the first place in order to rifle through his clothes. ] Those are... rubbish.

[mr_manners]

[He glances back to the clothes and frowns, before turning back to Amy again.]

They're not that bad.

No, you're right, but you're not wearing them. This is your first impression, Rory!

[He sighs before shaking his head.]

Alright. Then what would you suggest?

[keptbiting]

This. [ she flings a pair of trousers at him. ] And this. [ a tee shirt goes after it, but amy stays rifling around in the closet for more things. ]

[mr_manners]

[And he will just follow her lead because he trusts his wife's judgement, so the pants first, followed by the shirt.]

Anything else?

[keptbiting]

[ another shirt (button up) follows in lieu of answer, then she steps out of the closet with a jumper, pushing her hair back. ]

Have you got a belt?

[mr_manners]

Uh, yeah, probably.

[There are still suitcases scattered about as he's still moving in, but he moves over to one of them and fishes out a belt, holding it up for her her to see/approve.]

Yeah, that's good. Now you look good. Quite fit, have you been working out?

[mr_manners]

Working out?

[He stammers for a moment, before shifting his stance with a shrug.]

Well, you know how things are with the Doctor. A whole lot of running.

Hmm. [ she hums, arching an eyebrow. ] 's that all? I don't remember running having much good on your arms.

[mr_manners]

[He blinks a bit at that, before giving a small shrug.]

It's really full body. Or at least that's what I've discovered.
