The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope none of you are shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc!  This goes for... any time.

[ Who's this guy? Good question, because he certainly hasn't been around since Andie's Knighting. He leans over to examine the buffet table, eyebrows twinged together in mild sadness. ]

Do tell me they've provided tea.

[Andie sure doesn't know! But she giggles a little.] Wow, are you ever British!

[diplomatics]

[ It's fine, he brought his own tea bag. DIGGING IT OUT NOW YES ]

Andresian, actually, though I've spent enough years living here now that I've gone a bit native.

[OH MY GOD YOU ARE THE CUTEST NON-BRITISH GUY EVER. Andie covers her smile by snagging some more food.] How long?

[diplomatics]

A lady never tells. [ Grinning, he grabs a little cup and plunks the bag in it, planning to take it to... locate somewhere to make it. But he'll stick around for the moment. ] Colin Banks, by the way. I don't believe I've had the pleasure.

Andie Dodge! [She dips her head in a sort of nod/bow/greeting thing.] What kind of tea is that? English Breakfast? [She's just decided that he is as British as possible even if he's actually from... Andresia, whatever that is.]

[diplomatics]

Earl Grey. [ HE WILL OUT BRITISH HER BRITISH EXPECTATIONS ] Would you care for some?

[asap]

Sure! [She's not a big tea drinker, but hey, a drink's a drink, and she's... so amused still. Amused enough to let him properly give her British things.]

[diplomatics]

We'll need to pop out to the kitchen, but the party will still be here when we return, I'll wager.

[asap]

Okay! [She bounces up and down on her feet excitedly. For the fleetest instant she wonders how good an idea it is to wander out into the kitchen with a stranger, but the fact is, he's a knight, he seems like a very proper gentleman, and Andie's fast enough that she really never worries about these things. She starts towards the kitchen, moving rapidly. Which is to say... slowly by her standards, rapid by normal standards.]

[diplomatics]

[ He hurries along to keep up, seeming unworried by her pacing. ]

I'm afraid I didn't quite catch your name. I must have missed your ceremony.

[asap]

Andie! Andie Dodge. And it's cool. [She grins.] I'm not a squire anymore anyway.

[diplomatics]

Well, then! I think that calls for twice as much tea. [ A grin. ] Sir Colin Banks, at your service.

[asap]

[She nods excitedly.] Awesome. Do you have stuff besides Earl Grey?

[diplomatics]

We have a bit of everything on hand, on good days. Comes with needing to attend to the palates of so many species.

[asap]

How bout something... fruity and sweet? What's the weirdest thing you've got?

[diplomatics]

I know just the thing. [ /shoves open the kitchen door ] After you, my dear.

[asap]

[She beams at him and goes in, smothering a giggle at the 'my dear.']

[diplomatics]

[ He sweeps in beside her, heading straight for the cupboards, and drawing out boxes. ]

It's certainly good to be back, and to see so many fresh faces.
