[[ Several of the Knights discovered a secret room hidden in Nova Headquarters, full of strange occultish paraphernalia and guarded by monstrous warriors. Amid this was direct evidence of an interest in the Talisman. They also took captive Chad Becksworth's personal assistant, Olean Gilbert, who has information about the location of the mysterious woman that Burt told Finnick about - the one whose presence has had a major effect on Chad's personality. Olean doesn't even know the woman's name, calling her the "Mind Master", and identifying her as Chad's 'advisor'.

The Knights also discovered that the other Dragon's Claw, Sir Jack Chessing, had followed his own secret mission to Nova Headquarters, and he'll be meeting back at the hotel with them to explain what brought him there...

This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans, immediately following the last log and extending over the next two weeks.

What are those?

[Suddenly, a wild Myri appears! Apparently she's also restless and roaming the hotel.]

[His expression brightens when he sees her, and he tosses away the fliers.]

Tourists traps. Evil things. And a bloody waste of time.

['tourists traps' isn't a phrase she's all too familiar with, but she knows a bored Spike when she sees one.]

Should we explore the city? Find a bit of fun for ourselves?

Sounds loads more fun than any of this codswallop. [He offers her an arm.] Let's see how lost we can get.

[She beams up at him, slipping her arm into his.]

Lead the way.

[He leads her out into the street and starts wandering aimlessly.] Suppose we could get drinks. They do have good drinks around here.

I'd like to try something new tonight. Or every night. Do you think we could find something new to try every night?

[Something about this city makes her a little adventurous- or maybe it's just that Myri is starting to come out of her shell.]

[Her exuberance is both endearing and contagious, and he's smiling as they make their way down the block.]

I think we can certainly try. Have you ever had Chinese food?

[She shakes her head.] Unless Chinese is another word for crab. That's what I had during dinner with Finnick. [And boy had learning how to open that been an adventure...]

[He looks amused.] It's not, though I'm pretty sure they've got some crab dishes... Chinese food comes from China. Sort of. [He speeds up a bit, walking with purpose now.] Guess we've got our adventure for tonight.

[She has no clue where China is, but just goes with it.]

What sort of food is it?

All sorts, you know. Meats, vegetables, rice, special sauces. Some of it's spicy. [Yep, they're doing.] Hard to describe.

I guess I'll just have to find out once we get there. [But she trusts Spike so she'll just walk along happily.]

[And lo and behold, they come across one that looks reasonably good! Spike pushes open the door and holds it for her.] Here we are. Seems like a good one... hard to tell sometimes.

[Myri heads inside and takes a look around. There's music playing with words that she can't even understand, but the music part is nice! A woman approaches immediately and ushers the pair of them to a table.]

[Spike sits down and picks up a menu, perusing it thoughtfully.] Do you like spicy food, pet?

[Myri also looks at the menu, but it means nothing to her, so she's glad when Spike speaks up again.]

Hmm? A bit. Though I'd like to keep my tongue intact, if at all possible.

Not too spicy, then. We can arrange that. [He glances over at her.] Anything sound good?

I think the only word I recognize is 'chicken.'

Or at least it's the only one that makes sense... [She trails off while looking at something.] Tell me... how is rolling an egg appetizing?

You'll see. We're ordering some for you. [He puts down his menu and starts pointing out some dishes and explaining them and I'm way too lazy to actually do this part so just imagine he suggests some good ones. AND THEY ORDER.]

[Myri just smiles and nods while Spike orders, pretending to be following along, but truthfully she has no clue what he's getting the both of them.]

I'm starting to like this city a great deal.

It's all right. [Personally, Spike wouldn't mind exploring some other locations, but he likes being with his team. They're far more important than any city they might land in.]

I suppose I can't judge very well. I've only been to a handful.

Do you remember much about other places?

[He shook his head.] Just the places I've gone on mission, and the bit of California where I came through.

I'd like to see more.

I'm sure we will. [The way she says it has an undertone of the expectation of seeing them together, which she only solidifies by adding:]

Perhaps we can compare the food in all the places we go?
