[Rose checks behind her, like he might have been talking to somebody else, brow raised as she focuses on him, she shrugs.]

What, um, what kind of place is this America we're going to?

Um... Well it's big? [She's probably the worst person you could ask.] It's like England but they all sound different... and the weather is better... which is saying a lot for Chicago.

To Chicago? Yeah you could say that. [She's at least going to explain herself. a small grin pulling at the corner of her mouth.] That's where I was, when I came through the veil thing. I lived there a few months before I met up with Reedhym and his lot.

It isn't a... dangerous city, is it?

Well... we're going to investigate a bunch of murders so it's not exactly safe but it's not like danger is lurking around every corner. [A beat.] Just the dark ones.

[Rose shrugs.]

As long as you don't piss off the wrong people it's not that bad. No worse than any other big city... You, don't get out much do you?

Well, um, not... in this world. [ a beat ] Or in my own much, either, to be honest.

Ohh right. Another veil type person. Shadowkind or whatever. Same, it's just my world is kind of exactly like this one. [A beat.] I think... Did your one way ticket here come with veilnesia as well?
