It's only a few hour plane ride from England to Italy, but the team has a little time to settle in and get to know each other and/or ask questions of Zee in preparation for meeting with her dad.

And of course, when they arrive, she takes the lead, bringing them through the streets of Florence, Italy at night and leading them around the door of a sold out theater advertisement for the Amazing Zatara.

Are you gonna need a paper bag?

[ when emma wanders up the aisle, she leans on the empty seat opposite hook's, hands resting on it behind her. there's a water bottle held in one of them. ]

[unhand]

[Hook raises an eyebrow at her, though he doesn't let go of the arm rests.]

What for?

[uncurse]

For when you throw up. [ she pulls the water bottle out from behind her and offers it out to him. ] Here.

[unhand]

[He does not look amused, but he takes the water.]

I've sailed waves that dwarfed mountains. Gone through portals that traversed worlds. All without so much as flinching. Yet put me in this... metal contraption... [He dares a peek out of the window and shudders.] It's not natural.

[uncurse]

That's because it's science, not magic. Your definition of natural isn't the same as this world's. [ she watches him carefully, disguising genuine concern as she scrutinizes whether or not he's managing ok. the fact that he's even admitting he's struggling is ... not promising. ]

[unhand]

I know what science is. [Sort of. He's heard the word. He drinks from the bottle and gives her an almost skittish look.] I'm fine, lass. Don't fret over me.

[uncurse]

I'm not fretting. [ it's argumentative and defensive, but emma always is with him. ]

[unhand]

Why else would you've come over? The pleasure of my company?

[uncurse]

To do the decent thing and help you manage, but I see now what a mistake that was.

[unhand]

Don't be like that, lass. [He takes another swallow from the water bottle.] I appreciate the company.

[uncurse]

[ it ... does appear to be distracting him, tbf. she'd feel guilty leaving him to his airsickness. so instead, she bickers. ]

Maybe you should spend more time learning how to keep it, then.

[unhand]

[He raises an eyebrow.] Do I get any hints?

[uncurse]

No.

[ and with that, she's going back to her seat now. forreals. ]

[He catches her arm.]

Stay. Don't you want your plastic flask back?

[uncurse]

It's a water bottle, and it's disposable. [ beat. she realizes he might not know what that means. ] You throw it away when you're done.

[unhand]

[Wow Hook knows what disposable means he's got an amazing vocab. But he still looks a little flummoxed as he stares at the bottle.]

How wasteful.

[uncurse]

Welcome to modern society.

[unhand]

[He takes a gulp of water anyway.]

Tell me about planes.

[uncurse]

Like what? How they work? You're gonna have to ask someone else about that one. But, they're safe. You're more likely to die in a car accident than a plane crash. [ she leans up against the seat opposite hook again. ] They're faster than taking a ship across the sea. It took the people who discovered the U.S. months to get there by ship and plenty of them died on the way - but it's an 8-hour flight out of Maine to England.

[unhand]

[Hook has very little frame of reference for these distances, but he still manages to look smug for a moment.]

My ship wouldn't've taken months. She's the fastest there is, you know.

[uncurse]

And where's your ship now?

[unhand]

She's under repair. [HE IS SULKING.] My entrance to this world was a bit... rocky.

[uncurse]

I don't imagine she's moving faster than anything, then.

[unhand]

[He gives her an annoyed look because that is definitely missing the point.]

She will be, soon as I fix her.

[uncurse]

And how do you plan on doing that, exactly? You're a carpenter as well as a pirate?
