WHO || Tybalt and Amrita [closed]
WHAT || Tybalt is lurking around incognito and runs into one of his new
WHERE || The Library
WHEN || Sometime before their respective missions
Even in the relative safety of the castle, it wasn't often that Tybalt wandered around as his feline self. He did spend a lot of his 'alone' time curled up on one of the many surfaces in his room, but outside of there, he tended to keep to his human form. Today was a different kind of occasion. He was padding through the halls, making his way to the library and hoping no one had shut the doors too tight or he'd never make it through.
He wasn't particularly good with conversations that didn't lead to conflict. More often than not, anything he said ended up coming out offensive or a jibe, even when he didn't mean for it to. So when he found out Amrita was heading out for a mission, he just wasn't sure how to go about seeing her before she left without starting a fight or worse, letting on that he might actually be worried about her.
When he paused outside the library, his ears flicked forward as he listened for any sound coming from the area. It would be almost too easy if she really was in there, but he was putting his bet on it. He swiped his paw at the crack between the doors a few times, butting his head against it to push it open enough for him to slip between the cracks.
Time to see if he was any good at gambling after all.

Besides, it was quite a treat for her to have access to resources like what could be found in the castle.
This particular night she had perhaps overdone it a little, and was currently slumped over a reading desk, fast asleep.

As she lifted her head, blinking sleep from her eyes as her brain caught up with the fact that the slimy fellow who had been trying to sell her neon coloured eels had in fact been just a dream, she still somehow managed to miss the fact that she had company (spot 3).
Right up until the point when she slid her hand over the desk and touched fur.
The shriek that left her was far from dignified, but at least now she was very much awake.

Rubbing a paw over his face a few times, he shifted and rested his chin on the table, waiting to see what she would do. He couldn't watch her now that she was awake. He did not yet feel like risking her realizing that it was him. Better she just assumed he was a castle cat.

"Sorry about that. Can't have been much fun for your ears."
She hesitantly reached out to tentatively stroke the feline's head.
"Hello there."

After a moment's hesitation he gave a slight purr. Amrita had no way of really knowing it was him, so he kept a much looser hold on his pride than he usually did in their interactions.
That was the point behind this, after all. He had too much pride to go and see her before she left. That and he did not want to fight with her before her mission.

"That's what you call a purr? Quite the reserved one, aren't you?"
It was so much easier to stay in her zen space when dealing with animals. They were never frustrating in the same way people could be, even when they were being ridiculously difficult to handle.

But was really hard to feel threatened by a cat, and especially since this castle must be one of the safest places in the world, surely?
"You know something? I have lived in England for something like twenty years, and I come from the other side of the veil... and all of this is still absolutely astonishing. I feel like I've been living in some sort of weird bubble or something."
She sighed a little and moved her hand once more to stroke the soft fur on Tybalt's back. She wasn't entirely sure where all these words were coming from. Perhaps she just missed her father, who was the one she usually talked to about pretty much everything.
"And I'm supposed to be intelligent, you know?"
