[Seeing as Rose spends more time here than in any other part of the Castle... oh she's been treated quite a few times this week to what she assumes is supposed to be training but looks a lot more like a game of Whack-An-Elf.]

If you spend the whole time defending you're never going to land a hit.

[She bends to retrieve his short sword and offers t back to him.]

And you seriously have to stop dropping your shoulder whenever you're about to strike. You might as well shout at him that you're about to attack.

[She shrugged.] Probably because you're too busy worrying about getting hit to know what your body is doing.

Well, maybe that's because getting hit is entirely unpleasant.

You need to play to your strengths and I'm guessing brute force isn't one of them...

Well I think we've ruled out girls and combat as your areas of expertise so what are you qualified in?

It won't. [A beat.] But at least if you get attacked you might be able to outrun them.

The punchline is that I'm not even joking. [Though she smiles like she might be.] Seriously. Running. It'll help with your fitness and then you'll have a better chance at dodging his hits.

Well unless you actually like getting smacked around... [Brow raised.] I run every morning. If you can drag yourself out of bed to join me, I'll teach you how to not get destroyed every time you spar.
