The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[Andrew's kind of oblivious to his surroundings. As Anastacia is wandering, he's trying to get over to get himself some finger food and all but barrels into her with his shoulder. Immediately, his eyes go wide.]

I'm so sorry! Are you alright? I didn't mean to- I was just... I didn't see you there!

[ her eyes mirror his comically but she catches herself with unusual grace, and puts a hand on his shoulder to keep from falling over either. ]

No, no, it's quite alright, you don't have to apologize. [ she gives him a flushed smile, even though it seems to take some effort on her part ] I shouldn't be standing in the middle of the floor lost in my own thoughts.

There's a lot of floor. You can't really be anywhere without standing in the middle of it. [He gives her a more sheepish look with a trace of a smile.] Something wrong?

Oh, I-- I just received some rather disturbing news from Wynn. It seems I had family I never realized I had...

How's that disturbing? Unless you hate your family or something...

Because it seems she... she died. Recently. More or less.

It's alright. Obviously I didn't either. It's just so sad to think that she could have had so much family here... and according to Wynn, she thought she had none in this world.

That's terrible. [Even with his own issues with his family, he can't imagine just... not having them.] I'm sorry for your loss. Really.

I just wish there was more I could do now. But I suppose I'll see her one day.

[Religion is not a subject he knows enough about (knowledge religion 9). But I'll assume that being with the Knights has him used to aasimars enough to not find this too strange.]

She's an elven goddess, so you might not have heard of her, but her domain is over the death of everyone. Her plane is where all spirits travel when they die, before heading off to their final destination.

You could say that. Most people don't linger there.

Because there are hundreds of heavenly planes - and the opposite too, I suppose, and each person is sent to the one where they belong. The only people who stay there were devout followers of Sehanine. Or her family.

So that's... How do you know which one you go to? I mean, do you get to pick? The rest of us, I mean. [He really never paid any attention to religion but this seems a little more interesting now. Plus Anastacia is just so nice and seems to know a good deal about it.]

It depends on a lot of things, I imagine. Who you worship in life, the deeds you do, where your loved ones go...

That's... sort of terrifying.

Oh, no - it shouldn't be! It means you're likely to see those you love even after you die. That things won't just end.

But it means you might not. I mean it's not a sure thing, yeah?
