after-party ♔ december

♬ Jeux d'eau - Ravel
WHO || Wynn, any and all Knights not currently on missions (if you are uncertain if your character would be at the castle for this, ask!)ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.
WHAT || Squiring Ceremony Afterparty
WHERE || Knights Headquarters, the Ballroom
WHEN || December 1st, 2013, 6:00PM
HOW || Prose OR Actionspam
The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.
Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.
Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

Andrew is currently obstructing that goal. She smirks a bit, before tipping her head to the side to see around to his face.]
Didn't anyone ever tell you it's rude to hog the food?

Shit.
[Eloquent as always Andrew.]

Sorry! I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you.

More than likely, he will just transfer his data over to a new phone. But still. He's pretty embarrassed.]
Not the first time I've dropped it. Won't be the last either. [But it's not really clean enough for him to want to put in his pocket so he just stands around with it awkwardly for now.]

[She glances at the phone and shrugs.]
Maybe it's for the best. You might be able to actually engage with everyone else.
[She doesn't mean that in a pointed way, but more in a this is a reminder you should be social sort of way.]

You know- I don't know what's the big deal with a person minding their own business and checking their email. You'd think I committed a crime against all of bloody humanity from how often someone feels like telling me I should 'engage' everyone else. Y'ever think that maybe I am talking with someone? Just not here in the room?
[Being social doesn't have to be face to face >| ]

If you don't want to be social with someone in the room then why are you here? Why bother coming? If it's to support the squires, it doesn't really feel like support when you're ignoring them in favor of your phone.
[Just saying.]

[Andrew doesn't handle anger well. He just sort of gets snippy and comes off really immature when he's doing it.]
Why I'm here isn't really any of your business. And neither is how I spend my time for socializing. If you're so concerned about supporting the squires, maybe you should go warn them about how they can and can't act at a bloody party while you're at it.
no subject
Maybe I will. At least it'll be better than ignoring them.
