The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

If you think it's a "last mission" thing, you missed a memo or two. [ and she has no problem pointing it out to him because lila isn't the type to let herself get used by gold against emma somehow. she trusts lila to protect herself, even if emma admits she's important to her. she turns to him, not letting her surprise on. ] She's a good kid; good kids usually need someone to look out for them.

So her claws aren't nearly as sharp as she pretends they are? [He has his doubts- his scant few interactions with Lila never gave him the impression of "good kid." Possibly sociopathic kid, maybe. Mostly he's here because he has to get in his quota of irking Emma.]

She's a kid. Just how sharp of claws were you expecting?

Yeah? When are flashing lights going to help me on a mission? The Paris team handled that mission using our heads. Not magic. So, unless you're planning on teaching me a way to break Amara's curse, yeah, I'm sticking with 'nothing special.'

Well, that's a bit outside any of the Dragon's Fire's purview, I should think. That's a spell that's eluded masters of the craft for centuries. But I do admire your determination.

Then, we go outside the Dragon's Fire's purview. [ she rounds on him, that admirable determination building. he likes making deals? well she's got one for him. ] If you want me to learn magic, you're gonna help me break that curse. We track down whoever's looked into it, every lead, every theory, every whisper. And I'll learn whatever you want to teach me, whatever it takes to get me there. That's the deal.

I joined the knights to find my family, and David's leaving tonight because it's the right thing to do. He can't come back until we figure out how to break the curse on that woman. [ she makes a subtle gesture to amara by shifting her eyes over in that direction. ] I don't care what the risks are.
