Just like Fred said, at the top of the main staircase is the entrance to an incredibly spacious room, that has gym and weight training equipment on the wall near the door, and then lots of old school training dummies and more at the far end. A glass door enters into a firing range, and another pair of large doors on the farthest wall lead to the armory.

The room's full of the clanging of metal, as Dovan and Luthir fight, sword to axe, across the room, and Fred gathers everyone up on the gym side to explain things.

[Andie looks the equipment over, not really sure what to look at first. She's trained a lot with her dad, but never really with weapons. She hasn't done much combat at all, really.]

Uh. Um. I think a sword would be bad. Or one of the flaily things. That could be... not good to run with.

[witchwoman]

A smaller blade, perhaps? [Myrilandel offers from some distance behind.] I've known travelers to keep several smaller knives on their person- easy to conceal and move with, and if the item is made properly, they can be thrown from a distance.

[asap]

Oh, I don't need to throw. [It takes her about half a second to cover the distance between where she's standing and right next to Myrilandel. This is called showing off. She's not even going full speed.] But a smaller knife could be cool. For like, a run and stab thing.

[witchwoman]

[Myri blinks and steps back. She's never seen a person move so quickly before, but there is a lot about this place that is strange to her, so she simply swallows hard and tries to smile.]

Precisely. A larger weapon only lets people know how dangerous you are.

That too. [Though honestly, she's more worried about it being awkward to run with and have it not get caught on anything. Very specific problem, in her case.] Is that what you do? Daggers and stuff?

[witchwoman]

[Myri reaches down and pulls a small knife from her boot. The handle is wrapped in worn leather. It was clearly crafted by more primitive means than the finer weapons here.]

I'm not much for fighting, but I can defend myself.

I've never been in a fight. But I think I'd be good! I've practiced with my dad!

[shootfirst]

[Meanwhile, Kat is totally here, but not in her usual high spirits for some reason] I don't really see why anybody messes with all this medieval crap nowadays. The bad guys have guns half the time. We should focus on that.

[witchwoman]

[Myri turns to her Knight and frowns- both at Kat's expression and at her opinion on the matter.]

We don't have... guns where I'm from. This is all I've known.

[asap]

[Andie tilts her head, the gun thing distracting her enough that she isn't really listening to you slow people for the moment.]

Wonder if I could catch a bullet...

[shootfirst]

It's hard to get much easier than learning how to fire a gun. You just point [She holds up a finger gun and directs it across the crowd, closing one eye as she seeks out a target. She settles it on Fred Jr.] And then bang. [She seems to take all too much joy in releasing her imaginary bullet straight at his head.]

[witchwoman]

[Myri's attention is now divided between the two women. She looks at one, then the other. All the talk of guns makes her head swim.]

I don't know if it'd be wise to try without knowing... [She directs to Andie before turning a concerned look to Kat.] Is everything alright?

[asap]

Well obviously I'd practice first...

[Oh hey, Kat's not really following Andie's awesome idea, is she? Andie follows Kat's finger.] Are you shooting Fred?

[shootfirst]

[In response to Andie's question:] Not really.

[And then, mumbled under her breath:] Unfortunately.

[witchwoman]

... [Myri will just be standing, uncomfortable and wondering what's going on. She doesn't know this Fred guy, but with the way her Knight is acting, she's pretty sure she doesn't want to talk to him. Ever.]

[Andie tilts her head, frowning a little.]

Sooo I'm kinda getting that you really, really don't like him, huh?

[shootfirst]

Can you blame me? [She frowns in his direction once, then pointedly looks away]

I mean, first of all, he's been a Knight all of... what? Two, three years? And here he is acting like he owns the place and taking over noob training when we have Knights who have been doing this forever literally. And why? Because he can do whatever he wants, just because Wynn's his great great whatever.

And he's just so... [she seems to just get too disgusted trying to come up with a word to settle on one]

[witchwoman]

[Myri turns and looks at the man more closely. This is the first she's heard of anyone having a relation to Wynn and that intrigues her right away. But already, she has formed a loyalty to Kat, which means that any intrigue is painted in a negative light.]

Would you prefer we leave? [Because she will totally walk out with you. Solidarity. Or something.]

[asap]

[Andie frowns a little. She liked Fred at the feast when they danced.] I don't know... he seemed okay to me.

[shootfirst]

[She snorts at Myri's question] Are you kidding? I'm not giving him the satisfaction of leaving. [And then seems to notice what Andie said. Her head turns like in the Exorcist] What did he say to you?

[witchwoman]

Oh. [Is all she can think to say. THIS IS ALL SO CONFUSING FOR THE GIRL.]

[asap]

Nothing? [(UNSURE) FOREVER. Oh god, is Kat mad at her? She doesn't want Kat to be mad at her. She might punch a table or something.] We just talked about, like, family legacy stuff and we danced a little.

[shootfirst]

You danced with him? [She seems to think the idea of dancing with Fred is the most offensive of all things, but then tacks on:]

I'll bet he talked your ear off about his family legacy.

[witchwoman]

I-I'm afraid I'm missing something. And I may just leave you two to it...

[Boy does she not want to get in the middle of this]

[asap]

[Sob. Sorry, Myri. It is Knight gossip hour.]

Maybe a little? [She looks a little sheepish now.] You do remember that I've got the whole family legacy thing too, right?
