What has already been a long, eventful night promises to end with a bang. (Maybe a literal one, if Archer has anything to say about it). The Knights' 'night off' at Burt's club was crashed by not only an actual goddess, but also included a visit from Nadia, extending an invitation on Keijen Blade's behalf to come to his club across the city that night.

They smelled an obvious trap, but their debate over how smart it may or may not be to walk into was rendered moot when an emotionally distraught Isabella, having admitted her feelings to a bewildered Rafael to no avail, ran off to the club alone.

Knowing that Blade has a particular interest in Violet, everyone agreed it's for the best she keeps her distance, and she returned to Des' apartment with Finnick and Luthir while the others headed to the address Nadia provided.

Gar, Kat, Mark, and Elena are remaining in the car as back-up, while Rafael, Buffy, Spike, Des, and Archer will be heading inside.

archer throws open the doors again and isabella's head turns that way to see who it was approaching.

[ rafael takes a five foot step back and lowers both guns at those minotaur fucks, expression hard. ] I am fine, Bella. [ and with that he unleashes shots with lightning speed: atks 25, 20, crit fail, 17, 29, and 26. which does 43 damage to one of the minotaurs... leveling it. but he also shoots des in the process there, because everyone feels the need to stand in front of his ass. (8 dmg...)

and the one he killed was curly so. DES, YOU'RE UP. ]

[JESUS TAPDANCING CHRIST, RAFAEL. Des cringes and moves the fuck out of Rafael's way five feet and fires at the bigger minotaur twice (atk 28, and 25, for a total of 16 dmg.]

Every damn time, Fluffy.

[ rafael's about to retort but then he gets distracted because the big minotaur charges forward, lowering its mighty horns and bringing them to bear right at isabella. there's a horrible sound as one of them pierces into her (17 dmg) and she gasps in pain. larry does the same thing at des, but with much less success, seeing as how des just saw what happened to isa. he has plenty of time to move out of the way, and the thing charges a few steps past him, turning around with a snort.

isabella pulls herself off the horn, moving backwards a few steps with a cough and then viciously stabbing out with her rapier, striking mo twice (19 dmg). ]

Jesus fucking Christ! You're supposed to be extinct!
[Archer levels his shotgun at the one that impaled Isabella... Because... I mean, he's definitely picking a lady over Des.]

[He quick-draws his shotgun, and Double Taps, reloads using Quick Reload, and double taps the minotaur again using Heroic Surge! First Shot is a 21 Atk, 23 Damage (6 of which is added penetration dmg) Second shot is an Atk of 27 (So close to a critical...) for 18 Damage.]

[ raf turns his guns on the remaining minotaur as archer downs the big guy. atks 16, 20, 24, 20, 24, and 24 all hit... 33 dmg total, leaving larry in bad shape over there. ] Des: finish it.

[Des flicks the switch on the back of his Le Mat.] Don't mind if I do. [atk 24, dmg 25. holy penetration damage, Batman. TINY LITTLE GUN, LOTS OF FUCKING BUCKSHOT.]

Wooo-hoo-hoooo! Suck it, Cow-Face O'Leary! You're not burning this city down on our watch!

[Don't ask me how he made that leap. He's really grasping for cow related humor. Though, he immediately sets his Strength check of 22 towards separating the horns from the one he blasted. He's definitely taking a trophy from a fucking minotaur.]

not even gonna say anything about you, archer. ] Come, let's go before more of them find us. [ and she holds a hand to her BLEEDING WOUND and starts running up the steps. ]

[Des stares at the remains of the minotaur he just FUCKING EXECUTED and just... shakes his head.] I hate this guy.

[He pockets his gun and follows after her. CLEARLY RAFAEL IS OKAY IF HE'S MURDERING MINOTAURS AND WON'T FALL DOWN. RIGHT???]

[Archer rips the horns free with a satisfying grotesque crunch, then trots along after the rest of them, looking so fucking happy.]

Motherfucking Minotaurs! Woo!!

Seriously, how are you guys not excited? We just killed an endangered species!

You can be a very disturbing sort of man. [ and that's all he has to say about that. UP THEY GO, bursting out ... into the thrumming club scene. where everything is as it was, except that people are back to minding their own business. ]

[well, hopefully the vampires here don't SMELL THE BLOOD ON THEM. Perhaps it's that fear that makes Des physically incapable of pushing through the crowd this time (str 7)- he's too busy looking to make sure Isabella and Raf aren't getting sniffed at.

Or he's worried someone's going to sniff him too closely if he shoves too hard. SPIKE WAS REALLY CREEPY ABOUT HIS BLOOD SMELLING LIKE AGED WINE OR SOMETHING.]

Said the Italian kettle to the pot. [Archer scoffs, then holds the horns up near his head and starts giggling like a child.]

Choo-Choo Make a hole! [Strength check of 22 to push through the crowd, poking at people with the horns as he goes. It's good to know Archer can't take life seriously when there's minotaur involved.]

[ wow archer at least causes enough of a distraction to make it easy for these other guys to push their way out behind him. archer CLEARS THE WAY like a champ. no one is going to bother them, it seems, now that keijen's gone. ]

Things Des never thought he'd think ever. Des follows him and realizes that the only car left is Archer's because he didn't bring his. He looks at Isabella.]
