Being friends with someone as spontaneous as Faith can have its perks. She's invited the entire under-30 crowd at the castle to come celebrate her friend Andie's 21st birthday at an exclusive dance club called the Silver Band in downtown London.

The club is swirling with colors, as disco balls reflect silvery light that catches on the large quantities of glitter that cover just about every surface. The main dance floors are made of transparent glass, and the club is multi-storied, so that you can choose to dance higher up and see everyone below under your feet. Below the ground floor is a strange black canopy that seems to reflect odd flickering lights, almost like stars. There's a sort of classic opulence to the decor, and hallways branch off here and there to private rooms out of sight. Floating lights bob around the ceiling, that look almost like crystalline balls, except they're light as bubbles and can pop when touched.

Strangely, there are cobwebs in various areas of the club, mostly out of reach, as if it hasn't had occasion to be cleaned in awhile, but there's no traces of grime or dirt anywhere. Faith has a private room procured off one of the halls for the mini-buffet, because how can it be Andie's birthday without food??

[ faith shimmies up to the bar beside her excitedly ] What time is it? Shots o'clock? That's what I thought.

[And this would be exactly what Rose needs.]

Oh. [Grinning.] I've already got that covered. Why have one when you can get - a shaker.

[She's only just discovered that you can buy shots this way. What's the bet Rose just starts taking the lid of and shoving a straw in before the night is out.]

Oooo, I want one! [ she slams a hand on the counter, half-leaning over it as she raises one hand to the side of her mouth to yell: ] Bartender! Give me one of these too! Something green!

[Which means Faith will probably get exactly what Rose is having. Illusion FTW!]

The best part? Alcohol and a souvenir! [Yeah, you're probably not supposed to keep the shaker, Rose.] Had I know birthdays were supposed to be like this, I would have done something for mine.

[ faith leans over as the bartender preps her shaker. ] Oh my gods, when's your birthday? I could totally plan you something! Everyone needs to have an awesome birthday.

[littledhampir]

[Welcome to Rose fails at celebrations that most people really get into 101.] Uh... Four days ago?

[Remember how we said Rose was going to eventually switch to the straw in shaker method? Yeah, that was going to happen sooner rather than later, the brunette now reaching for said straw.]

I don't really remember them being that much of a big deal though. [Nose wrinkling.]

Not a big deal? You only get one every year! Would you say Christmas isn't a big deal?

[littledhampir]

[Rose is just going to press her lips together before answering that one.] I'm guessing you want me to say; Pshh, no, of course it is, huh?

[Birthdays and Christmas. Not a thing Rose really did growing up.]

Wait a sec - are you from the Shadow World?

[littledhampir]

Got it in one. [Grinning as she sips her ridiculously large thing of booze.] But, Christmas and Birthdays are a thing people do back home, I just never did. Not that I remember anyway.

[moonheart]

I didn't think they had Christmas over there.

[littledhampir]

[This is Rose's 'huh' face and she's still sober.]

They... did... in... my there? [Can't remember her best friend? Remembers that Christmas exists. Go figure.] I don't really get it. It's like this day where everyone gives presents for no reason. [Confused, before she brightens.] But there's food!

[moonheart]

Well, I guess everywhere has holidays with presents and food! [ she grins, looking back over the buffet ] Otherwise it'd be a pretty shite dimension.

[littledhampir]

I could live without the presents, it just better have donuts. [No but really. Rose without a sugar fix was like her mun without coffee.]

You know, why aren't there more holidays that include donuts as a major stipulation of the whole thing? I think you've pointed out a big time flaw in the system here.

[littledhampir]

Right?! There needs to be an International Donut day! I mean if you can have an International House of Pancakes, why not a day for a Donut?

Pretty sure our path is clear.

We've gotta make one!

Yeah but that involves effort. Though they do have Dunkin Donuts here, right?

[Actually, not so much. There's all of one store and it only just opened but Rose and semantics.]

Give them the idea, they can run with it and in return we'll get a lifetime supply of donuts.

Calling them first thing in the morning. Don't think I won't.

I knew there was a reason I liked you.

[Raising her glass shaker in toast before knocking back a fifth of the contents.]

First of many reasons to come, I hope! [ faith clinks her glass against hers and then they can go on and do a million shots whoooooo ]
