Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Myri, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Elena to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Elena Gilbert, please kneel."

[This isn't nearly as nerve-wracking as her squiring ceremony if only because she's not brand new and in front of a million freaking people, so she's actually pretty at ease as she does as she's told, kneeling in front of Wynn.

He's still intimidating as fuck, though.]

Sir Gilbert. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[She nods gently, though her answer is firm.]

Yes, sir, I do.

[wynn]

[ Wynn nods once solemnly and then asks a directed question version of the same thing Elena heard at her squiring ceremony: ]

Do you swear to defend the Knighthood?

[notaroundme]

[Another nod. There's going to be a few of those coming, pretty sure.]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[notaroundme]

I do.

[It's like getting married~]

[wynn]

Do you swear to never recoil before thy enemy?

[notaroundme]

[She'll sure as hell try.]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[notaroundme]

[Hell to the yes.]

I do.

[wynn]

Do you swear never to lie, and to remain faithful to your pledged word?

[notaroundme]

I do.

[Except maybe to those evil bad guys. Going undercover is a thing, after all.]

Do you swear to be generous, and to listen to and respect all?

[notaroundme]

I do.

[Easy peasy lemon squeezy.]

[And he fixes Elena with a critical eye, as if making certain she thinks most deeply upon this one:]

Do you swear to be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil?

[The only hard part about that is figuring out exactly what is right and good, but that's what she has everyone here for, to help her figure that out.

So it's not even close to a lie when she nods again.]

Sir Koraith. [ He smiles slightly at Elena as he speaks. ] Do you accept Sir Gilbert as a member of the Dragon's Tongue?

[ Koraith moves his massive girth forward with all that careful ease of his, looking very proud ]

Do you, Elena Gilbert, swear to be the voice to speak for peace, and the rights of those who do not have a voice of their own?

[notaroundme]

[She turns her attention toward Koraith as he moves forward, smiling at him.]

Yes, I do.

By the power of my office as Section Leader, I grant to you, Elena Gilbert, the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Tongue. [ He nods to her and gestures for her to rise ] Congratulations!
