WHAT || London hosts an academic convention regarding the phenomena of the Veil and Shadowkind
WHERE || London, England
WHEN || June 7th, 2014, evening.
HOW || Actionspam. Single thread.
It's been over a hundred years since mankind first came to a global realization that magic and monsters were real and walked among us. Yet in all that time, much about the process of how or why remains a mystery, and a subject of great speculation among scholars the world over.
This is why London hosts an annual convention to discuss these complicated matters, both from a scientific and social perspective. There's something for everyone with even a passing interest in understanding the Veil, magic, or the various races that share this world. Sir Jeanne Gar, a young member of the Dragon's Hoard, has been asked to present some of her research at said convention, and has invited many of the Knights to come fill the seats, and explore the other lectures.
The hall is large and brimming with scholars both young and ancient, as well as those of a variety of unusual Shadowkind species. It makes for great people watching from the food court, at least.

I feel like I'm the only one that isn't... you know, a psion. [ at least not in the way that other people are psions. lila is straddling the line between psion and magic. (she would prefer psions...) ]

I work for the Commission for Research into Unexplained Phenomena, a branch of the US Government that does in-depth fact finding on a number of topics that bypass the 'mundane'. One of these which remains full of more questions than answers is the unique phenomena of psionics.
What separates a psion from a sorcerer? Much of what they can do is similar to an observer. Yet we believe that the key lies in examining the source of their power - a source that is uniquely and entirely located within their own brain. Those who manipulate arcane energies around us do so either through rituals that harness those energies - wizardry - or through a natural ability to control them - sorcery. The energies themselves however, do not exist within the wizard or sorcerer. They are around us and everywhere. Both types of arcane magic users merely have ways to tap into them.
Psions are unique, in that their energy source is actually entirely stored within their own mind. They, in fact, produce this energy, through processes which we've yet to understand.
