There are plenty of missions that return to the castle a success - most of them, even. The defeated air of the solemn group that returns from their diplomatic mission to Andres Isle to hear the demands of dictator Dimitris Sarandis makes it quite clear that this wasn't one of those.

Starting with Sarandis' actual demands - for all Knights to withdraw from Andres under penalty of death, or for Wynn to offer his own head in return for Thomas' safe return - and ending with the unexpected, disturbing confession from Kat that she intended to stay behind on the island because she had "fallen in love with" the dictator, the events of the island made it very clear that Sarandis was cannily playing his hand to get the Knights where he wanted them.

Fred Jr. shoves open the doors with his unnatural strength, stalking in ahead of the group into the lobby. Whoever's on desk duty isn't going to have to roll a high wisdom check to see that these people are pissed... and distraught... and a myriad of other emotions on the bad end of the scale.

*I am changing the date of the briefing log and Andres log/live session to have taken place in September, to avoid us being in backdated hell forever, and to allow for a September squiring ceremony before apps are closed. Carry on... in the future!

[It's hard to really explain how she feels about knowing that Stiles doesn't remember Scott. She thought it would make things easier, but every time she's tried to even go up to him or start a conversation with him again she ends up thinking about Scott and that's just not where she wants her mind to be.

Now, with things being the way they are, she knows she needs to reach out to him again. She's worried about Lydia and she's tired of avoiding things that are too hard to talk about.

She'd been trying to figure out where to find him when she walks right into him in the kitchen. Her short trip to get a banana has turned into coming into the situation she had been looking for -- just a few hours before she was ready for it.]

Stiles, I -- I was going to go look for you.

[Turning, Stiles half a mouthful of bagel, because what is good timing. He knows that Allison has been avoiding him and that it likely has to do with the mission Veil memories of a best friend he can't recall at all. From what he's put together with conversations with Lydia, he can sort out that Allison dated this Scott guy- which explains why any time he tries to think about a time he hung out with Allison, things get a little fuzzy around the edges.]

You were? [There's a lot going on around here. Finding him doesn't seem like super high priority unless....] Is Lydia okay? Did something happen?

[Maybe the prospect of war does things to a banshee. He doesn't really know???]

[Immediately she shakes her head, trying to reassure him and make sure he knows that it's not about Lydia at all.]

Oh -- no, it's not -- Lydia's fine. I mean, I think she's fine. I haven't talked to her today, but I just know that it's been a while since I got here and I thought with everything going on... maybe we could talk.

Oh. Yeah, sure- of course. [He looks down at his plate.] Bagel?

I can grab my own. [She doesn't want to just take his food. She'll move to grab her own bagel and shove it into a toaster slot.]

Lydia says that you remember more than she does - about things that happened back home and I know that there are still parts missing, [Scott being a large part of that, for sure.] but I just thought if I heard some of it, maybe it would make sense or fill in some blank spot for me.

I can try, definitely. Not really sure where to begin though. Did you have something in particular that was bugging you?

[She shrugs.]

The last thing I remember was being in the woods, headed back home after the betas had been contained in the school.

If I'm missing memories, like Lydia is... how much am I missing? [It concerns her, because she doesn't like the idea of time just being gone from her mind.]

It's hard for me to really know. Lydia filled me in on a giant chunk of my life that I can't remember. Your boyfriend, apparently. And my own dad? Some things are harder to remember. But do you remember the alpha pack? And the sacrifices?

Ex-boyfriend... Scott. [She nods.] You grew up with him. You're best friends.

[Her head tilts, listening to Stiles. She's upset on his behalf for him to be missing those parts of his life. She knew how important those people were to him and to be missing them... it makes her wonder what exactly she's missing. Is there some important part of her life that has been taken away from her?]

I know the alpha pack is in town. They had Erica and Boyd in that vault. They killed Erica... I found her body. I know there have been deaths, but I didn't know they were sacrifices.

Sorry. [Is the ex thing something to be sorry about? He now wonders if he and Allison are on good terms? If her ex is his best friend, shouldn't he dislike her on principle? MISSING MEMORIES ARE HARD.]

Uh, yeah. Sacrifices. Some druid gone bad was trying to do some crazy ritual with a bunch of different group sacrifices. That's what all the deaths were.

[Allison listens to Stiles and it makes sense. The birds at the windows all the animals acting weird -- they knew something was out of balance.]

What sort of crazy ritual? Do you know?

This evil druid- who somehow got a job teaching at the high school... we have got to get a better background check going- Anyway, she was trying to get enough power to take on the Alpha Pack. So she started sacrificing different kinds of people. Archetypes. Virgins, warriors, healers, philosophers, guardians. Apparently that combination was supposed to do the trick.

She's a teacher at our school? [It takes her a moment.] Wait - Miss Blake is an evil druid?

That's the one. Surprised all of us, so don't feel bad.

[She doesn't feel bad, because honestly she's barely even had much time with the teacher to come to any sort of conclusion about how surprised or not surprised she... will be? It's weird, because she feels like she won't ever have that instance happen in her life. Not that she wouldn't go home if asked to, but everyone here seems to think that they're needed here more.

Still, the part that bothers her is that she doesn't know any of the things that Stiles is telling her. It's not a matter of her just forgetting, they just didn't happen for her. She's positive of that. She remembers how she came in through the veil. The clothing she wore and the things she was carrying. It's confusing to think about it in any way that makes sense, though, and maybe that's the point.]

I don't... I just -- what else has happened? [Because this seems really intense.]

[Crap. Okay so the next part was going to be harder to go into.]

Your dad was taken. And a nurse from the hospital- Melissa McCall. [Because he remembers her even if he can't remember Scott.] And I think... I think my dad maybe? Him or Scott. Because when I try to remember more about who was taken, it goes kind of foggy. So I think it was one of them.

You and I were trying to find them. Some ritual that was supposed to help us figure it out. We got dunked into these ice baths and that's... the last thing I remember.

... my dad? [He must have come back from France at some point. She swallows, trying not to be concerned with something that hasn't happened -- yet. Or maybe it's happening now, either way it's too confusing for her to really settle on how upset she's meant to be about this information.

Maybe it's all happened and she just doesn't remember it.]

Melissa -- that's Scott's mom. If it was my dad and Scott's mom... it would fit to the pattern of groupings if it was your dad, too.

What sort of ritual requires an ice bath? [She didn't get the memo about dunking Isaac in the tub of water to make him remember Deucalion's place. She just went off solo style and tracked down the bank logo on her own.]

Does it matter? I don't... The details get kind of fuzzy. I think it's part of the Veil side effects. The closer I get to that moment? The less I remember. Honestly, I just remember that it was freezing and that Lydia was the one holding me under the water.

[It's hard for her to say that it doesn't matter. That the things that happen to them, things that she doesn't remember - rituals and Lydia attempting to drown Stiles...

Her thoughts seem to wind in on themselves.]

Sorry -- I just, I'm trying to see if anything sounds familiar and it doesn't, so it just makes me want to know more.

[He sighs and nods.] I know. I'm sorry, it's just... Talking about it still kind of freaks me out. [He basically had a panic attack when he talked to Lydia and realized the things he was missing.]

It's understandable. If there's anything you want to ask me, you're welcome to. I want to help, Stiles.

I know you do. And I appreciate it. But the last time Lydia tried to talk about Scott, it freaked me out. And the idea that I can't remember my own father? It's just... I'd rather pretend it's find, you know? Especially now.

[Allison nods, trying not to get too upset about it. It's difficult for her to just let it go, but she knows she needs to try for Stiles - for Lydia.]

It's fine. I don't - I'll try not to think about it. [She exhales and smiles, trying to be reassuring.]

Once we get back from this whole war thing? We can all sit down and try to piece it together or something. I'm not trying to brush you off, Allison. Seriously.

[Allison nods.] Okay. It sounds like a better idea than me just trying to piece it together alone.

[She nods.] Thanks, Stiles.
