The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[As previously mentioned, Faith is working the little black dress and she can't help but smirk at the sight of Willow. Look, she knows she's not going to be the most welcome Sunnydale Resident, but she's hoping that at least SOMEONE remembers her.]

'Sup, Red. Like the whole... daisy thing you've got going on. Did you not have time to shop yet?

Faith! [Yep. Definitely remembers her.] I didn't know you were-- I mean... So... you're a knight too, huh? Well- squire, I guess, but...

[She holds out a plate of appetizers she has.]

Quiche?

Nah, I'm good. [She lifts her chin, some sort of silent acknowledgment to her comment about being a future knight.]

They take all kinds here [Including Spike! She's still laughing a bit at that.] and I did save Los Angeles before I showed up here. Might not be the sort of thing that makes it back down to Sunnydale, so I get the surprise.

Los Angeles? [Her confused face is very confused.] But you were just-- [Freshly put into a coma. Awkward.]

[Faith catches the awkward pause and glances to her and then cants her head.]

The blank is gonna get filled in with either a coma or prison... wanna help me with the reference?

You went to prison?!

[Which is a way of saying that she means coma, I guess.]

[Faith lifts an eyebrow.]

Yeah, kinda happens when you turn yourself in and get a sentence of murder two with twenty-five to life. [She says it pretty casually, to boot.]

I served a few years, was ready to go the whole twenty-five, but then Wes came and told me they needed me to save Angel.

He helped break me out. [Not that she expects Willow to believe that, if she didn't even know she went to prison.]

I took care of that and kinda didn't feel too upset when I slipped through that veil and ended up here. Seems better than going back to prison. Besides, with all the riots and shit happening in LA, they probably figured I died anyway.

[Willow's brain may be short circuiting with all the BRAND NEW INFORMATION. But it's at least a logical train to follow. Faith go de-coma'd somehow but then turned herself in apparently? Which is great. But then got out because... Wesley asked her to save Angel..?]

Since when does Wesley go around saving Angel? [Oh no- someone needs to learn about him being a rogue demon hunter.]

He got fired from the whole Watcher's gig. Ended up in LA working for Angel. They do that whole saving people from the evil law firm and random demons thing.

Oh. [With a sense motive of 17, she is starting to believ her.]

And you were helping them.

Not at first. I kinda blew into town and made a bad impression. Things hit that rock bottom that everyone probably saw coming a mile away.

I turned myself in and started serving my time. I would've stayed, but Wes said they needed me and when I heard it was Angelus - I knew I owed Angel my help.

And now you're...a squire? [Still not fully on board for Faith turning over a new lead, but there's clearly some parts that she wasn't aware of and maybe the Slayer do-good destiny thing finally sunk in?? Hopefully??]

How long have you been here?

Not too long. [Faith shrugs.] And yeah, I'm squired to this guy - Alaric. He reminds me of Wes a bit, but with a side of Angel with that whole my life blows and I need to frown a lot about it part.

Broody. [She says, like that sums it up. It does, though, basically.]

They have me squired to someone called Gar? It's her last name, though. Kinda like Giles.

Huh. Not for nothing, but that's definitely one helluva last name. She cool?

She seems really nice. British and booky. It sort of reminds me of home.

[Faith figures it sounds like she's a female Giles.]

Probably a good thing for you. [Her home stuff is a good memory. For Faith, the closest she's come to home is a dive motel.]

I think so. [She gives a nod, still feeling slightly awkward because of her memories of Faith and reconciling this slightly less bad Faith???]

So... How do you like it?

It's better than prison. [She shrugs, glancing around.]

I mean, I guess it's better that I'm here helping out than just going back to sitting in that jail cell. I'd rather not go back to death threats and lack of privacy when I shower.

That's not... usually a great reason to dedicate your life to something? [Even as she says it, she's sort of wincing because Faith is pretty scary okay.]

I mean... You should want to do because it's... good!

[Faith lifts her brow. Yeah... 'cuz that's totally her.]

We all got our reasons, Red. I'm not in it to betray everyone.

But you... You remember everything, right? Spike and Cordelia, they..? [She looks back out at the party.]

I know the Veil does some weird memory stuff, bu I guess I didn't expect this.

Yeah, I mean, as far as I know I came with everything in tact. [Well, she sort of forgot all the stuff with Willow showing up to shove that soul back into Angelus again...]

What about you?

[She nods]

Feels like everything's there. No big blank spots at least. I guess it's hard to remember if you forgot something.

Yeah, I hear that. [She runs her hand through her hair.]
