The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

No, but that doesn't mean I didn't have my doubts.

[ she snorts a laugh. ] That is literally my job, babe. So. Who did they squire you to?

[ who does she have to watch like a hawk? ]

They didn't tell you? [ what. her expression twists in concern. ]

[ she huffs. how is she supposed to verify if they're good enough for sylar if she doesn't know who they are?!?!?!! ]

What? Am I supposed to know already?

[bittersweeter]

[ she doesn't remember. IT WAS SO FUCKING LONG AGO. ]

I dunno. I don't remember anymore. [ another huff. ] But me a drink. From our free bar.

[watchmaker]

[he stares at her like really gurl??? but obliges. as usual.] Yeah, sure. All right.

[ it's not like she's going to make him fetch it by himself, she'll go with, because huffiness aside she's still super excited that he's here! and she can see him more often than like eight days a month. she a hundred different shades of happy and like twelve shades of nervous about his first mission and that wynn will change his mind and boot sylar out and then she will be sad and it's a very stressful (but happy) life in lila's brain right now. ]

This like is my eighteenth squiring party. They probably have my drink waiting.

[ functioning alcoholic. ]

[ she shrugs. ] Probably. [ sudden internal fretting he's not going to like all her problems when he has to deal with them 24/7. ]

You don't need that stuff. [he pulls her in for a kiss.] Is everyone else here that awful, that they're driving you to alcoholism?

[bittersweeter]

[ mm kisses. ] It's not the people, it's the pain. [ and sometimes the people. but it's mostly self-medication. and she never gets drunk. only on her birthday. ]

[watchmaker]

Not much better. [he's trying not to worry but she doesn't exactly make that easy for him.]

[bittersweeter]

[ with her hella gay wis of 22, she knows he's worried. it bugs her because she doesn't want to worry him, but it's nice at the same time because his worry isn't overbearing. ] It's fine, I'm used to it, remember? And I didn't take anything today because I knew I would be drinking.

[ safety first. /tries to be a good patient even though astrid isn't her doctor anymore. ]

All right. [he doesn't sound entirely convinced, but he lets it go.]
