The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

Great! Glad to hear it. I mean if I didn't, that would suck.

[She knows not to mention the people that do die, though. At least not at this moment.]

Yes. Of course. [She nods and then lingers a bit, but then just walks away. Who knows why. She's just trying to make it simple.]

MY brother's a millionaire playboy with a drinking problem. He's never around when I need him, he's never around when anyone needs him. He lied to me about who my own family is. He skipped our mom's funeral. Why set myself up for more disappointment by asking where he thinks we stand?

Because you have already experienced disappointment. How can it get worse? [She's very serious about it.]

You're already stuck here with him. At least he remembers you, too.

[ her lips purse. ] You know, I've asked myself the same thing and then -- [ with a soft sigh, she looks up at the ceiling, face breaking into a smile that is just full of helplessness. ] And then somehow it still manages to get worse. I gotta go.

[ and look at her just... walk away, heels clicking as she disengages and pretty much runs out of the ballroom. ]

[Malia wonders if she said something wrong. There's a good chance she did. She'll have to ask someone about it.
