Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Andie's father is given a seat of honor at the front of the ranks of the Dragon's Tongue, and Tia, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Andie to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Andrea Dodge, please kneel."

[wynn]

[Welp, Andie, that's yo' cue.]

GUESTS OF HONOR, ETC.

[telekinection]

[ Hey, come hang out with Andie's Dad and... stuff. ]

CONGRATULATIONS GURL

[koraith]

[ YAY afterwards, come up and offer Andie congrats, etc. ]

[asap]

[ANDIE KNEELS. She's quivering with excitement and it's all she can do to keep at normal speed. BUT IT'S IMPORTANT so she does.]

[wynn]

Sir Dodge. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[asap]

Yes. [It may seem that she doesn't hesitate before answering, but in actual fact that no one except Andie and her dad could sense, she spent a few nanoseconds thinking it over. Trying to decide if she's ready and if it's the right move and everything.

But she wants this. She can help people. She wants to do it.]

[wynn]

[ Wynn nods once solemnly and then asks a directed question version of the same thing Andie heard at her squiring ceremony: ]

Do you swear to defend the Knighthood?

[asap]

[This one Andie doesn't have to think about, but she still hesitates because she doesn't want to go too fast.] I do.

[lightblindbadass]

[Riddick will sit in the front, watching the entire thing with a look close to pride on his face, though his arms remain crossed the entire time. He does clap at the end with everyone else though.]

[telekinection]

[Andie's Dad, who I don't have an account for, is beaming like a fool next to Riddick, though there's a sort of sadness in his expression too. He murmurs to Tia:]

She looks so much like her mother.

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[asap]

[Another serious nod.] I do.

[notafraidofthedark]

[Riddick glances at the man as he speaks, then back up to Andie, paying more attention now to the features the two do and do not share.]

[wynn]

Do you swear to never recoil before thy enemy?

[asap]

[She contemplates how weird archaic words like "thy" are for a split second. Then goes back to the question at hand.] I do!

[wynn]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[asap]

I do!

[wynn]

Do you swear never to lie, and to remain faithful to your pledged word?

[asap]

I do!

[wynn]

Do you swear to be generous, and to listen to and respect all?

[asap]

I do!

[wynn]

[And he fixes Andie with a critical eye, as if making certain she thinks most deeply upon this one:]

Do you swear to be everywhere and always the champion of the right and the good against injustice and evil?

[asap]

[But she doesn't have to think about it. This one, above all, is why she'd wanted to join the knights, and even if she'd mangled the wording a bit in her squiring ceremony, she knew the general idea. She looks up and meets Wynn's eye, not hesitating for more than the time it took for her to be sure he was done speaking.]

Sir Koraith. [ He smiles slightly at Andie as he speaks. ] Do you accept Sir Dodge as a member of the Dragon's Hide?

[koraith]

[ Koraith moves his massive girth forward with all that careful ease of his, looking very proud ]

Do you, Andrea Dodge, swear to be the voice to speak for peace, and the rights of those who do not have a voice of their own?

[asap]

[She nods rapidly, looking up at him.] I swear.

[koraith]

By the power of my office as Section Leader, I grant to you, Andrea Dodge, the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Tongue. [ He nods to her and gestures for her to rise ] Congratulations!

[asap]

[She rises, a huge grin on her face, bouncing up and down on her feet a little. Yeah, she really can't do the solemn, dignified thing. She's a real knight now!] Thanks! [And already she's glancing back into the audience to make eye contact with her dad.]

[koraith]

[ And everyone is smiling and clapping, but he's also got a single manly tear in his eye as he meets her gaze. He nods to her with a smile tempered by solemnity. ]

[ANDIE IS HERE! Tell her how awesome she is.]

[Riddick comes up after the first few people have congratulated her, offering her a firm hand-shake and a teensy tiny barely there smirk.]

Congrats.

[asap]

[She beams and pumps his hand rapidly.] I'm so glad you came!
