The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[(disguise 18) Myri wouldn't have missed this party for the world. She comes up to Elena as quickly as possible (while still politely saying hello to those she hasn't seen for some time). She reaches out a hand to grasp the girl's wrist, brimming with excitement that the day has finally arrived.]

You were wonderful. How do you feel?

Of course not. [She grins at Gar, happy to see her, her tone light.] I'm perfectly happy with being shared.

[Sorry, Myri, but you're getting pulled into a hug. She's excited.]

I feel great! No more waiting! [Big grin as she releases her.] Now when I tag along, I'll finally belong there.

[Nothing to be sorry for. She welcomes the hug and squeezes the girl to show her excitement and support.]

You belonged before. [She insists as she straightens her dress.] But it is a bit more official now.

[rationalizes]

[ elena gets a warm hug from her as well ] Now I suppose we'll have to share you with the rest of the castle as well. They're certain to love you.

[She reaches out suddenly and takes Elena's hand in both of hers.]

I have a surprise for you. I've been trying to think of the best time to tell you, but I was nervous. [She still is, but Myri knows she has to just get it out and hope she doesn't screw it up.]

Wynn has asked for me to take you on as my Squire, for me to mentor you until you reach full Knighthood.

[She chuckles.]

Just so long as you're not rearranging anyone's face on my account.

[She saw you throw that punch, Kat.]

[She glances down at her hand as Myri takes it, knowing somehow that what she's about to tell her is important.

Her eyes are alight when she finishes, and her smile spreads again, bigger than before.]

Really?

[She practically does a little hop of excitement.]

Why would you ever be nervous about that? I couldn't be happier.

[Elena's excitement is catching. Myri cannot help but smile, despite the butterflies that remain in her stomach.]

I've never had a Squire before. I just... want to make sure you have the best training possible.

[rationalizes]

I'll make certain she behaves herself.

Good. I feel much better, then.

[Not that she was particularly worried in the first place.]

[And Myri gets another hug, because this is just the best thing ever.]

We'll fumble through it together. [She teases.] Who are you kidding, you'll be amazing. And we already know we work well together, after all.

Please, we're gonna have fun tonight. And we should go hang out in London sometime soon, to really celebrate.

[She laughs and wraps her arms around the girl before pulling back to continue the conversation.]

Yes, if ever there is a need for a hair pulling, screeching distraction.... We certainly have the experience.

I'm all for fun tonight, believe me. We've more than earned it.

[She perks up further.]

And we were pretty damn amazing if you ask me. [A beat.] Even if hurting that security guard wasn't exactly part of the plan...

[She practically snorts. Oh Kat, you know her so well.]

Or we can just conveniently not let her know at all.

I still can't believe you did that. [She says with a laugh, finally loosening up.]
