Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Hasmed, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Finnick to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Finnick Odair, please kneel."

[he knows this is ~the big one~ where everyone takes a moment to stop and reflect the weight of the question and the meaning of their lives or whatever before saying yes, so he does. he's been a lot of things, but never a champion in that way. a survivor, an idol maybe, but not a hero. it just makes him want it more. he's got this.]

[witchwoman]

[She makes a small approving noise at his whispered response, not able to stop a little shiver from running through her.]

Good. [She responds back quietly.] But for now you must go speak with the others. They came to congratulate you, after all.

[witchwoman]

Well.. yes, but still... [She's just going to swoon a little. She's allowed.]

[ Koraith moves his massive girth forward with all that careful ease of his, looking very proud ]

Do you, Finnick Odair, swear to be the voice to speak for peace, and the rights of those who do not have a voice of their own?

[he pulls back from her with slow reluctance.] If I must ...

[he's never really met koraith before now (that he can remember), but there's something instantly endearing about him.]

[ he has that effect on people ] By the power of my office as Section Leader, I grant to you, Finnick Odair, the title of Full Knight of the Dragon's Tongue. [ He nods to Finnick and gestures for him to rise. ] Congratulations!

[witchwoman]

[Oh that face is just not fair. She pulls him back and presses her lips to his.]

Only for a bit. The evening will be ours soon enough. Besides, I have to finish planning our night, so I think I'll take this opportunity to slip away. Come to my room once you're finished?

[now that he and myri have had their ~love connection~ and made their plans, he's no longer trying s-so hard to find her and is instead hanging out, looking relaxed (as opposed to smug or cocky) and drinking some wine. it's not often that he gets a chance to ... not put on a jackass persona, so he's going to enjoy it.]

[he can't help his face ok he was just born with it. he nibbles at her lip before she stops pressing and starts speaking again.]

Of course. I can't want to see what you have planned. Are you going to astound me?

[look des has done a lot to get finnick where he is today BY PLACING HIM IN UNCOMFORTABLE SITUATIONS WITHOUT REALLY ASKING FIRST so it's only fair he gets invited to finnick's jamboree. ]

I certainly hope so. [She says, that little bit of uncertainty flickering across her eyes. She's never quite sure of herself, but she smiles through it.] You'll have to let me know once everything's said and done.

[nononono. he notices that flicker and tries to reassure her.] I have a feeling it'll be the best. [he brushes a bit of her hair behind her ear before slowly trying to unpeel himself from her. 8( it's so difficult but it had to happen sooner or later ... ]
