Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Hasmed, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Finnick to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Finnick Odair, please kneel."

[ yay it's over! there's a small 'party' afterwards in here with wine and classy finger food. go tell finnick congrats ]

[finnick is looking pretty snazzy in his armor it suits him ha hA HAHA HA. everything about his body language as he walks up says he's completely at ease. he's just flyin' like an eagle to the sea. despite appearances, though, a part of him deep inside feels the same frantic excitement he felt when first selected for the games ten years ago.

when he reaches wynn, he kneels.]

[Myri isn't necessarily talking to the other Knights, so much as BEAMING WITH JOY AND PRIDE. She looks around excitedly to some of the other guests before continuing to watch. Eventually, she does lean over to the person next to her and whispers:]

He looks so handsome, doesn't he?

[She's not paying enough attention to look to make sure that the comment wouldn't be a little awkward. Whoops.]

for finnick, obvs, but open to threadjacking of people puking over how cute they are

[Myri's buzzing with too much excitement to eat. She hangs back when Finnick first arrives after the ceremony, not wanting to interrupt any of his conversations with his new section members or any of their other friends.

It's a bit like her old wallflower days, but with an entirely new reasoning. Eventually, she does approach him, waiting for a moment when he's something close to alone. She taps him on the shoulder, then quickly kisses his cheek once he turns.]

You were wonderful.

[wynn]

Sir Odair. You have demonstrated a commitment to the ideals of this organization that has been deemed sufficient to induct you into our order as a full Knight of the Silver Dragon. We ask at this time that you answer this question honestly:

Do you wish to accept this position?

[he fixes his eyes on wynn and says, with unmistakable sincerity,]

I do.

[hilariously enough, he was scanning the room in search of myri when he feels her tapping. he's slightly surprised by the kiss, but you'd never be able to tell. especially from the way that he picks her up like she weighs approximately nothing and gives her a spin around before kissing her back (he'll go for the mouth tho). he's so excited to see and talk to her that the rest of the room is pretty much dead to him now tbh.]

You really think so, huh? Or are you just saying that?

[witchwoman]

[She lets out a squeal of delight as he lifts her, laughing all the way. When they land and he kisses her, she melts into it, despite the very public display. Finnick makes her knees weak, and she's grown more comfortable with his affections, as evidenced by the way her arms wrap around his neck and she prolongs the kiss a second or two longer than typical. When they do pull apart, she's slightly breathless.]

Of course I think so. And I'm certainly not the only one. Hasmed, Wynn, Koraith... they all seem to feel the same. [Well... not exactly the same, but that would be super awkward.]

[whatever, it's his party and that means he can do whatever he wants. even if it's being obnoxiously romantic with his lady. he stays pressed against her after he puts her down, talking close and quiet like this is some kind of ~personal conversation~ even though it ... isn't really. not at this point anyway.]

I don't know if I'd go that far. [he grins, barely holding in a chuckle.] Could you imagine them all fighting over me? It would get bloody for sure. [not to mention he still thinks hasmed doesn't like him very much at all. but that's a conversation he's not going to have with probably anyone ever.] I bet you could take them, though.

[wynn]

[ Wynn nods once solemnly and then asks a directed question version of the same thing Andie heard at her squiring ceremony: ]

Do you swear to defend the Knighthood?

Yes. [no hesitation, he's thought this whole shebang over.]

[wynn]

Do you swear to respect all weaknesses, and constitute yourself the Defender of them?

[witchwoman]

[She leaves her arms draped around his neck as he holds her close. One hand rests against his neck, her fingers running through his hair, because she just likes having contact with him.]

I'd let them have their fight while I stole you away when their backs were turned by battle. Which reminds me... You haven't made plans for the rest of the evening, I hope? I thought we'd sneak away after the celebration.

Do you swear to never recoil before thy enemy?

[uhhh like he ever does] I swear it.

[wynn]

Do you swear to make war against injustice, without cessation and without mercy?

[he leans into her touch as she messes with his hair, then whispers into her ear] Why would I make plans when I was thinking we'd do the exact same thing?

Do you swear never to lie, and to remain faithful to your pledged word?

[his entire life is kind of a lie right now so that makes him pause, but he figures wynn means about ... important things. pledged-word-giving things. yep. sounds legit.]
