Can't fight city hall, Becksworth. [Des has lowered his righteous indignation to a scowl of disapproval, but he's pretty impressed with Buffy's manliness right there.] Especially when city hall's this pissed off.

[That said, he finally sucks in a breath and moves closer to the where they're laying the casket. He's had his moment to avoid this. It's time to stop running from it and actually face it.

Jade's not the first person he's buried. He's buried every person he's ever known and will continue to do that for the rest of his life. Funerals don't bother him. If anything, he's desensitized to the concept. There's no fear in the act of burying someone.

There is, however, a whole lot of shame associated with it, because Jade didn't want to die and it's not fair that he's practically gagging for it and she's the one who's in that casket. Every time he looks at her, that's all he can think. She should be the one on this side of things.

It ought to be raining right now.]
