Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

The Knight's new section head, Wynn, and their mentor Knight wait up at the front of the room for their approach, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

Makes sense. I think the sects are just sort of a guideline. I mean, I didn't join the Fire, but I can still study magic if I want. [He's still pretty jazzed about his baby spell list.]

Felicity. Junior knight who feels your pain. But fortunately, with our exorbitant pay checks we can take our time and afford the good stuff.

[She laughs a bit at that.]

I can neither confirm or deny. All I know is that whoever does the shopping has excellent taste.

No. [ she is firm and she reaches out to take his hand gratefully. ] You had a lot to do with it. You were a tremendous help when I returned from Tibet.

[ she probably would have left again without sweets' therapy. ]

This is the most mismatched group of people I've ever seen.

[She totally means an impression on all the other members of the sect and not the cute half elf study buddy one.]

Uh-huh, no problemo. [ her sense motive was a 36 so she... knows something might have been left unsaid right there. ] Any impression you wanted to make in particular? On someone in particular?

Yeah, it would be pretty bad if I were out in the field and used the wrong lore. It could get someone killed. I think I'm pretty much up to speed, but I can't be too careful.

After that, hopefully I can start looking into things that haven't been prodded at before. I don't want to just play catch up forever.

I'd be lying if I said the thought hadn't occurred to me even before coming to this world.

[ Deep thoughts cause her forehead to crease, and she worries at her lip. ]

Entry examinations and applications, sure. But it won't be a problem that I don't have a high school diploma? Is that something I can do while still going on missions for the Knights?

Yeah. "Questions." [ lila zacharov, queen of holding grudges. ] Outright and incorrect assumptions more like.
