The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[ Given that alcohol can't really be a thing for him yet, Henry is indulging in pretty much...as much food as possible. Though he does manage to pause and take a breath, looking over at the new guy. ]

The ones with shrimp are the best, have you tried them?

I have. Personally I'm not really a fish guy, but I'm also of the opinion that shrimp doesn't really count.

Shrimp is definitely its own thing. I kind of didn't want to come to the party this time around, but the snacks are always worth it. [ He smirks a little, holding out his hand. ] I'm Henry.

Shawn. I would be offended about your not wanting to come to my party, but I think I can survive this time.

[He shakes his hand with a smile.]

How long have you been a Knight?

I knew I'd be making a mistake I'd probably regret if I didn't come. [ He smirks a little, letting go of his hand. ] About...six months now? Close enough to that, anyway. It's been interesting. Totally worth it.

Have you seen anything cool? Slain a dragon? Rescued a princess? Upgraded to a cool but snarky talking vehicle, though I would assume that being England, it would have the appropriate British accent.

Uh...well, there was this weird sort of...gargoyle looking creature we defeated. No princess rescuing yet, but we helped recover some weapons, so...at least we helped people. A talking vehicle would make everything even better, wouldn't it? [ Now that's a really cool idea... ]

[It's just a fact of life. Shawn used to have one. He thinks. He's pretty sure his name was Carlton Lassiter.]

I am actually in the process of wooing one. His name is Gus.

[He will helpfully go and point out Gus Harrison in the crowd, the problem with this being this is one of Shawn's unfortunate delusions and Gus is actually his mentor.

And can't really stand him at all.

Though naturally when we're in the field, we'll have to operate under a series of clever aliases.
