[ This log covers any non-work related shenanigans the Knights have while staying in New Orleans. Because we haven't finished out the other two logs yet, assume some time has passed since then, in case anyone was injured, so that they've had sufficient time to get better.

As for work stuff, you can assume they've been busy with establishing Finnick's fake rock star cred, and investigating some of the intel they'll uncover in those other logs that we haven't quite gotten to yet. JUST DON'T TALK ABOUT WORK and all will be well.

[ it's in the very early hours of the morning that a giant BANG comes echoing out of the room kat and gar share. anyone who comes out to the main room to investigate will be greeted with curling tendrils of blue smoke coming out from the crack under the door... ]

[bigbad]

[Spike is just getting home when it happens because he is a creature of the night who likes prowling the streets at night looking like a creeper and wishing he could get into fights without having a migraine. When he hears the noise and the smoke, he immediately rushes forward, shoving the door open (and possibly breaking the lock if there's a lock?) and looking around anxiously. Because he is both stupid and heroic and will someday burn to death. ...temporarily.]

[slay]

[ it's okay, buffy had probably already been woken up by the horrible things inside her head, to the point where the loud things going on outside of it are a welcome reprieve. she's on her feet and out in the main room in a second, looking disheveled and generally pajama-wearing, but alert and ready for whatever could possibly be attacking at like 5 am. ]

What was -- ? [ she breaks off to cough as the smoke comes out from the door once spike fucking kicks the door open. she reaches up a hand to wave it out of her face ] That.

[rationalizes]

[ The door's unlocked, but opening it doesn't reveal much more than an epic cloud of blue powdery fog that conceals anything that might be in the room. In fact, it drifts instantly past Spike, covering him from head to toe in the stuff, which clings to his hair and gives him a nice dye job.

It's Gar who comes staggering out first, clutching Spike's shoulder and coughing as she waves her other hand in the air in front of her face. She looks like a blueberry. ]

Ka-- [ coff coff ] Kat.

[bigbad]

[Blue's as cool as bleach. This is all right. Spike pulls Gar out, away from the smoke.] Is she in there? [Of course she is. Spike moves past Gar, stepping into the room. It's not like he can get even more blue, after all. He blinks through the smoke, trying to catch a glimpse of her (spot check 26).] Kat?

[slay]

[ spike seems all over the kat situation, so buffy goes to gar, putting a hand on her arm. ]

Are you okay? Is Kat -- What happened? [ her brow furrows in concern, then she pulls her hand back to look at it when she realizes gar is ... blue. wtf. ]

[rationalizes]

[ Gar manages to get a hold of her self, gesturing towards the door as she leans on Buffy. ]

Potion... brewing...

[shootfirst]

[ Spike manages to see Kat through the clearing fog, where she sits, apparently at ground zero of the incident. Her entire face is a deeper blue than Gar's, and when she opens her eyes, the white of them stand out comically against her dyed skin. In one hand she holds a beaker poised over a jar.

She opens her mouth to talk and instead coughs out a giant puff of blue dust. ]

[bigbad]

[Luckily, Spike doesn't need to breathe. He forges through the smoke and takes her arm.] You all right?

[slay]

If that's what you call brewing, I'd hate to see your definition of exploding. [ she glances into the smoke once she's sure gar's okay. ] What kind of potion?

[shootfirst]

Those healing potions I make for you guys. I had the uh... wrong ingredient. [ Kat shakes her head, sending blue dusting out in another cloud again. It's beginning to settle onto the furniture around and she looks about with some remorse. ] Mannnn, housekeeping is going to hate us.

[rationalizes]

I'll call down and offer to pay for the damages. There's no reason we can't.

[bigbad]

[...yeah, this is why Spike doesn't trust magic. It seems more likely to make you fall in love with your nemesis or lose your memories or, in things he actually remembers, burn your face off than actually help. But this doesn't seem to be the time to say it. He rubs some of the blue off his face, though since it's just as think on his hands, it doesn't do much.] Think I need a shower.

[shootfirst]

Actually, it uh... doesn't scrub off. [ she speaks with obvious experience ] But the good news is it auto-dissolves in twenty four hours...?

[slay]

Twenty-four -- ?! [ Buffy looks down at the splotches of blue that have managed to dust their way onto her. ] Please tell me this is a sickly belated April Fool's joke.

[bigbad]

[Spike looks down at his awesome jacket worriedly.] That means it won't stain, right?

[shootfirst]

If it does, I might be able to work up another potion to ... get it out? [ yes gratuitous applications of MORE potions, best plan ]

[slays]

Yeah. Because it worked so well this time. [ her lips are pursed and her eyes are narrowed as she tries to get the blue puffs away from her with swatting hands. ]

[bigbad]

Let's save that for a last resort. [He'd say no way never but... he doesn't want his coat to turn blue.]

[ cue dumage wandering by, who pops a grape in her mouth, eyeing them all, with wicked amusement ]

Did Kat blow herself up yet?

[slays]

Just trying to blow up the rest of us.

[bigbad]

We're all right. [Spike wanders out of Kat's room.] But I'm cancelling all plans that involve leaving until this stuff goes away.

Oh, I don't know. I think blue might be your color.

[slay]

[ buffy will take this opportunity to do that falling passive aggressively silent thing she does when she's disapproving of skeezy girls hitting on people. UGH, DUMAGE. she doesn't give an outright glower, just looks subtly uncomfortable. ]

[bigbad]

[Spike just looks amused and... doesn't believe her.]
