[This log is for any in-flight interactions on the Knight's private plane ride to the mission site. Feel free to make your own threads/threadjack, etc. The flight time is approx nine hours. Get to know your teammates, talk about the mission, ask questions, etc. etc.

Rafael will be meeting the Knight at the New Orlean airport, and Des is welcome to reconnoiter with the Knights back at the hotel!  Feel free to do threads for grabbing rooming buddies, etc. ] ]

[Spike is just as bored as Buffy is. But when he sees her sleeping, no matter how uncomfortable she looks he can't bring himself to wake her.

So instead he pulls his coat off and drapes it over her, smiling affectionately at her.

Then he finds another seat and lies down across the row to try and get a few winks himself.]

[slay]

[ buffy doesn't stir until the landing gear hits the runway in good ol', muggy new orleans. as she stirs, she blinks the sleep back, looking down at the coat with confusion as she uncoils. ]

Mm? [ as she wakes up, her gaze lifts around the plane and she spots spike across the way. she processes where the makeshift blanket must have come from and a smile slowly spreads over her face. she huddles under it for a moment longer, savoring the last vestiges of sleep, inhaling the smell of leather and cigarettes and probably leftover coke from the creeper who had this jacket between times spike did as the plane taxis to a stop.

then she sits up in a slow way, folding it over her arm and moving to wake spike up by nudging his legs lightly with her hand. ]

[bigbad]

[He yawns when she nudges him and slowly opens his eyes, looking up at her.] Are we there yet?

[slay]

Just touched down. [ she greets him with a smile. ]

[bigbad]

Right. [He sits up and rolls his neck from side to side.] These things aren't built for sleeping, are they?

[slay]

Not exactly, no. Might have gone easier if you had something to use for a pillow. [ she holds out his coat for him meaningfully. ] Thank you.

[bigbad]

[He smiles at her and takes it, standing up slowly.] Guess you're lucky I didn't think of that. [He would still have given it to her if he had.]

[slay]

And lucky for you, we're checking in tonight and if there's anything that can work the kinks out, it's a hotel bed. [ ... there's a brief o_o face as she realizes that sounds vaguely sexual but she's not going to draw attention to it because SHE WAS OBVIOUSLY TALKING ABOUT THE KINKS IN HIS NECK. ]

[...ARE YOU SURE THAT'S THE KINK YOU MEAN? Spike raises his eyebrow, but he doesn't comment.]

Yeah, that'll be loads more comfortable. [A beat.] Reckon I get my own room now that my roomate's gone?

[slay]

Or maybe you'll just get a new one. [ the sass with which she says that makes it sound like she's suggesting that maybe his new one will be her but that's entirely unintentional. her arching her eyebrows doesn't help, and she turns to lead the way off the plane. ]

[bigbad]

[Buffy is seriously the champion of this. Spike follows, shrugging his coat back over his shoulder.]

Was that an offer?

[slay]

What? No! No -- No offers. [ and then to be more ~casual about it, as though it's not too late for that. ] I always room with Myri.

[bigbad]

Well, I'm not rooming with your rockstar friend.

[slay]

Rafael will probably get his own room, thank you.

[bigbad]

Maybe I should take up some instrument. Seems like all the best rooms go to the bloody musicians. [HE JUST DOESN'T WANT TO ROOM WITH MARK.]

That bloody musician is bankrolling his own stay, as far as I know. If you decide you wanna do that, you're welcome to your own room.

...think I can use my mission expenses credit card?

You really struggle with the "your own" concept, don't you?

Just because no one minds doesn't make it the same as -- And who believes Dumage of all people, anyway? Hello? Liar?

Just cause you don't like her doesn't mean I can't. And it's not like I'm buying diamond wristwatches or anything.

Hey, this has nothing to do with like. I'm stating fact. "Ooh, I'm going to do my part of the mission," and yet meeting up with her sister? Lie. Still don't have an explanation for that one, last I checked.
