[This log is for any in-flight interactions on the Knight's private plane ride to the mission site. Feel free to make your own threads/threadjack, etc. The flight time is approx nine hours. Get to know your teammates, talk about the mission, ask questions, etc. etc.

Rafael will be meeting the Knight at the New Orlean airport, and Des is welcome to reconnoiter with the Knights back at the hotel!  Feel free to do threads for grabbing rooming buddies, etc. ] ]

[Man, Spike hates flying. He is, as usual, tucked away in a shady alcove with all the shades down. And he's leaning against the closed window because he is a rebel and a badass and the sun can't hurt him in here. X(

Also he's watching random TV shows and movies on his phone, but he keeps getting bored in the middle and switching. Finally, he shoves the phone into his pocket and huffs an annoyed sigh, looking around for other people to bother.]

[ dumage catches his eye and shoots him a wink across the aisle, moving the magazine off the seat next to her. hint hint hint. ]

[ thomas seems unfazed by the notion of airplane safety, and merrily makes his way up and down the main aisle, starting conversation, checking on stowed luggage, and eventually taking a place at the front of the plane, one hand on a seat on either side of the walkway to make an announcement. ]

Well, then! As we're all going to be working together, I propose we play some kind of game to help learn more about one another. Any suggestions?

[Boy, this sure is the opposite of what Spike wanted.]

[ gar's innocently over here reading a book like she does 99% of the time when suddenly... a black blur leaps onto her lap out of nowhere and the books goes flying as she lets out a loud shriek, nearly jumping out of her seat ]

[Myri is still constantly fascinated by flight, but she's an old hand at this by now, so she's splitting her time among several things: reading, smuggling with amaranth, chatting up her teammates, etc.

She may also be fussing with her phone to try to teach herself a bit more about technology.]

[ wow you know what gets really old

fucking nine hour flights.

seriously how many of them is this now like a hundred? it feels like a hundred. buffy's tucked away by a window, reading a book (or reading the nutrition facts on a package of airplane peanuts because her attention span is just not that long) and her expression is pretty clearly communicating how much she loves being stuck on this plane for another however many hours.

yeah no eventually it gets to the point where she's curled up uncomfortably, napping against the window and drooling on her own shoulder. ]

[Spike is just as bored as Buffy is. But when he sees her sleeping, no matter how uncomfortable she looks he can't bring himself to wake her.

So instead he pulls his coat off and drapes it over her, smiling affectionately at her.

Then he finds another seat and lies down across the row to try and get a few winks himself.]

[ yeah guess what, when you fall asleep, kat is gonna cast mage hand and crook her finger in the direction of those leftover peanuts in your slack grip...

[ one attractive curly-haired half-elf awaits your party in the lobby... without any bags or anything, so apparently he's already dropped his stuff off because you guys are slow. ]

[Spike doesn't know Rafael or anything but he sure is pretty. Is this Buffy's sexy Italian rockstar friend? Spike definitely dislikes him on sight. Also he may have googled him to get images or something.]

You'd be Rafael, then? [His tone is unimpressed, verging on hostile. But just a little.]

[ rafael's reaction makes it clear he's read the message, as subtle as it might be, and he looks sort of on edge as he directs a suspicious gaze in spike's direction, eyes narrowed and dangerous. but he spots the others trailing behind him, and the expression vanishes, although his tone is still hesitantly cautious. ]

Si. I take it you are with the Knights as well?

[ come crash at your fancy pants hotel, try to talk finnick into letting you come stay at his awesome penthouse instead, etc etc. ]

[ thomas has his own room next door, because dragon's claws are better than other people. he's going to disappear in there for awhile, if anyone would like to bother him ]

[ eventually, errybody gon' gather in the main living room of the conjoined hotel mishmash room most of you are sharing to make with some planning. ]

Well, before we start with planning, I want to make sure everyone is up to speed. Rumors seem to suggest that Mr. Chad Becksworth has either returned or will be shortly returning to Nova, which means we may finally get a chance to speak with or observe him, or this mysterious woman who his brother holds has been an influence on his behavior.

Finnick has also learned that Mr. Becksworth's personal assistant is in the building, I do believe. [ she glances at finnick for assurance on the point ] Perhaps we can speak with him as well, to try to find out more information about this woman, or Chad's schedule.

FOR MYRI but others can show up too

[Spike stole borrowed a wii from the castle along with a few promising looking games, and he's setting it up so he and Myri can experiment with them. The setting it up part isn't hard. It's choosing a game that's tricky. Despite his reputation as an expert at all things with screens, Spike hasn't played that many video games in the several months of his remembered existence. So he's flipping through, trying to pick a game Myri might like.]

How bout 'Legend of Zelda?'

[So... Myri discovered room service. And the joy of the hot fudge sundae. She's currently parked on the living room sofa with the world's biggest sundae resting on her lap.

She'd probably share if you asked... and brought a spoon.]

[Des is in a corner of the hotel bar with a scotch and a napkin with the ouroboros scrawled on it. Every few seconds or so, he scribbles something in a moleskine notebook and then goes back to looking pained.

Fact: The talisman and Jade are connected, regardless of whether or not Jade has ever heard about it. The problem is finding out how and if it does or doesn't have something to do with the

Fact: He's getting involved in the same crap he got involved in years ago and this time, the prize might actually be the real deal, which would be thrilling, except he actually cares about one of the people who might be hurt by this.

Fact: He still hasn't really let the Knights in on a whole lot of his involvement in this mess.

Fact: There was something going on in this damn city and it was likely connected to everything and he was set on getting to the bottom of it.

Fact: This entire situation was giving him a massive headache, hence the scotch.]

[With an investigation check of 9, Des has some measure of a vague lead on his "snake people" and is sniffing around a few locations like a boss. At the moment, he's just on the street where he first met the busker who warned him off the case and glancing around, giving the impression of a confused tourist. Spot check: 14.]

[ it's getting dark out, and the area is as semi-abandoned as always... but des would notice a sudden spray of orange color down the alley to his left. unfortunately, the hooligan in a hoodie waving a spray can around down there notices him too, and the moment he does, he drops the can, which rolls in des' direction, and breaks into a run, leaving his artwork there.
