[ Yesterday, members of team failboat went to the bayou hideout of the mysterious woman known only as "the Mind Master", on some intel from the captured Olean Gilbert. What they discovered was a very bizarre woman, who played mind games with them, and seemed to evince little concern for their interference. Another man, whom may have been Chad Becksworth entered, and told her that "Decker" was finished stalling and all was in readiness... The two of them fled before the Knights could get much information from either of them, and set a hideous creature to attack them: which appeared to be the result of a Frankenstein-like scientific process that sewed a human woman together with a giant snake.

The next day, another team of Knights infiltrated NOVA HQ to hack into appointment records and discover the names of those intended to meet with Chad Becksworth. Just as they downloaded the list, the scheduled meeting attendees arrived: it seemed they were meeting today, and the Dragon's Claws insisted that the younger Knights retire to the hotel, where all will be able to monitor the meeting onscreen as they spy on it and broadcast video. Knights' allies (Des, Rafael, Elena) are invited to watch as well. ]

[rationalizes]

[ those knights who weren't actually heading in to do the distraction/infiltration are all hanging out in the common living room of the hotel room, able to listen in to the headset conversations being broadcast by Finnick, Elena, Myri, Kat, Mark, Dumage, and the Dragon's Claws.

if any of them weren't paying good attention, however, gar hisses everyone over as she scrambles to open up the computer screen, fingers flying across the keys with insane ease as she yanks up the link to the video thomas will be broadcasting. ] This could finally be our chance to hear Chad Becksworth in his own words.

[Spike had been playing Angry Birds on his phone, but when Gar starts up the video, he looks up, suddenly interested.]

Is this the part where he starts monologuing?

[ dumage comes in and curls up onto the couch beside spike leaning her elbow on the arm of it as she watches gar with mild interest ]

Does he have a white cat?

[ gar fumbles with the screen a bit more, clicking and changing some settings until finally an image of thomas' face appears, wearing a smart ass little smile. he winks at the camera. ]

Can you hear me now? [ jack is visible behind him, and they both appear to be in a very narrow, metallic space. that would look super familiar to spike and mark... ]

[rationalizes]

Very clearly. [ she smiles, but then her brow immediately creases as she looks more closely at the screen. ] Are you... playing cards?

[bancroft]

[ thomas grins and holds up his hand, and it's clear that jack has some too. ] You know how meetings are. Everyone taking all that time to settle in and actually get to business.

Here. [ he moves the camera angle so that it looks down through a narrow vent, at which is visible a table. the people from the above linked post are all gathering around and finally seats, along with dimitris sarandis, who looks particularly annoyed and keeps asking if anyone has seen chad's assistant lately. kitty looks over at him, frowning.

"Not today. Why?"

dimitris looks irked by the news but just shakes his head, as abruptly the Mind Master walks in: a very tall blonde with unusual features. she says nothing, just wears a mysterious smirk, but it's enough to make the room fall silent. a few moments later, this man enters, dressed exactly like this. ]

[Des straightens a bit at the sight of Chad and the Mind Master and moves a bit closer.] And there's our boy.

[slay]

What exactly are we watching, his dungeons and dragons game? [ taps gently on the fourth wall. ] I mean, is he serious with that outfit?

[fleecing]

[ the fourth wall has a hardness score of 100. light tapping does no damage.

chad settles himself standing at the front of table, two gloved hands resting on the head of his cane as he surveys the table. not everyone is fully visible through the slot, but everyone can clearly see chad, kitty, and dimitris frrom this vantage point. ]

Ladies and gentlemen. [ he gives a thin smile ] This day has been a long time coming. I'm glad we can all finally gather here to begin a new era [ beat ] in the recording industry.

As you know this is more or less a formality, as we've already approved all talent assembled. [ he nods to his left and the mind master opens a briefcase, taking out a pile of packets and distributing them around the table. kitty lifts the top page off her stack and looks through it thoughtfully, but dimitris doesn't even look at his. ] Your clients need only sign on the dotted line.

[bonquas]

[ kitty continues scanning the document, even as dimitris reaches across the table, apparently borrowing a pen from someone. he extends it down the table further, and rynn is seen leaning forward to take the contract and sign.

kitty, meanwhile, looks back up. ] It looks legit.

Seems like you've covered all your bases, Becksworth. [ she flips another page. ] When's the tour begin?

[usurping]

[ dimitris testily looks across the table, glaring daggers at someone out of sight. ] As soon as Jacobson pulls his weight, I imagine. Unless you plan to begin without Jade.

[supremacist]

[ a voice that rings familiar to some of them answers bitchily from the other end: ] I've done everything I can short of bringing her here on a leash. And I thought that was your specialty, Sarandis.

Maybe if you had the means to make her more... amenable as you keep promising...

[romanticidal]

[ in the living room, rafael tightens, his fist quivering and his face set in hard lines. ]

Amenable. [ he spits the word ]

[slay]

[ buffy reaches out to rest a hand on his arm, reassuring and restraining all at once. ]

They try anything, and we'll stop them.

[romanticidal]

[ raf looks down at her hand, and relaxes his fist ] ... Si. Si, of course. [ he sounds drained, however. ]

[fleecing]

chad breaks in, annoyed, over the bickering: ] If we have to proceed without Jade, we will. There's a date set for the tour outlined in the contract, and we'll begin with or without her. I'm figuring out a contingency plan as we speak.

[ he nods all the way to the far end of the table ] And Blade insists that while she's potentially the most powerful of their kind, there are plenty of others, that he can assist us in locating. Our time table will remain.

[postergirl]

[ dumage shoots a subtle, intrigued glance in rafael's direction at chad's 'their kind' comment. ]

Interesting...

[shadowhater]

[ a very deep voice from beside jacobson, which must be decker greenwall, adds: ] Just give me a couple months and you'll have forgotten all about Eterna Jade. We've got a lead on a girl in Romania, who's supposed to be really something. We're heading there after this is all said and done.

[nothingsodivine]

[Des cracks his knuckles around when this talk about Jade starts getting personal.] Yeah, you better forget about her, asshole.

[He sighs once his macho man moment is over.] God, I hate Romania.

[slay]

Something tells me we best do what we can to figure out who they're looking for in Romania. [ she looks to gar. because gar just works research magic okay, she should know everything. ] Even if Jade's off the hook - personally, I want to get whatever they want before they do. Call me petty.

[bigbad]

Sound plan, if we can figure out who this girl is. [Romania's full of girls.] Another singer?

[narcosynthesis]

[ another male voice speaks up from the far end, where chad had addressed keijen blade, the singer. he sounds confident and casual, and has some strange traces of an interesting accent that's impossible to place. ]

I said she is something, quite powerful. But don't get me wrong.

No one can compare to Jade. [ you can actually hear his narcissistic grin ] Not even me.

If there is a way to bring her into this, you must do so.

[rationalizes]

[ gar looks between buffy and spike, chewing on her thumbnail. ] It seems likely. But without a name to work from... [ doubt works its way into her expression ] It could still come up?

[fleecing]

[ chad holds up a hand ] It's a worst case scenario to move forward without her. As I said, we have things in the works.

[ he glances around ] Do the... artists have any questions for us? If not, I'll leave you to read and sign, and reconvene with the agents in fifteen minutes for a private meeting.

[witchwoman]

What did we miss? [Myri says, trying to slip in with as little disturbance as possible. Her hair is still mussed from the staged fight. And her dress may be a tad ripped from the tumble.]
