[ Yesterday, members of team failboat went to the bayou hideout of the mysterious woman known only as "the Mind Master", on some intel from the captured Olean Gilbert. What they discovered was a very bizarre woman, who played mind games with them, and seemed to evince little concern for their interference. Another man, whom may have been Chad Becksworth entered, and told her that "Decker" was finished stalling and all was in readiness... The two of them fled before the Knights could get much information from either of them, and set a hideous creature to attack them: which appeared to be the result of a Frankenstein-like scientific process that sewed a human woman together with a giant snake.

The next day, another team of Knights infiltrated NOVA HQ to hack into appointment records and discover the names of those intended to meet with Chad Becksworth. Just as they downloaded the list, the scheduled meeting attendees arrived: it seemed they were meeting today, and the Dragon's Claws insisted that the younger Knights retire to the hotel, where all will be able to monitor the meeting onscreen as they spy on it and broadcast video. Knights' allies (Des, Rafael, Elena) are invited to watch as well. ]

[ those knights who weren't actually heading in to do the distraction/infiltration are all hanging out in the common living room of the hotel room, able to listen in to the headset conversations being broadcast by Finnick, Elena, Myri, Kat, Mark, Dumage, and the Dragon's Claws.

if any of them weren't paying good attention, however, gar hisses everyone over as she scrambles to open up the computer screen, fingers flying across the keys with insane ease as she yanks up the link to the video thomas will be broadcasting. ] This could finally be our chance to hear Chad Becksworth in his own words.

[Spike had been playing Angry Birds on his phone, but when Gar starts up the video, he looks up, suddenly interested.]

Is this the part where he starts monologuing?

[ dumage comes in and curls up onto the couch beside spike leaning her elbow on the arm of it as she watches gar with mild interest ]

[ i'll be real with you, there's some rafael reaction shit that will go down in the thread above that could potentially influence conversations that take place in this thread so YOU MAY WANT TO WAIT TIL WE GET TO THAT SHIT ABOVE TO TAG THIS, it shouldn't take too long.

anyways, sometime in the next week or so, rafael has discovered that there is a ~PIANO~ in the hotel bar because it's a classy hotel bar. so he's down there on his off hours from NOVA, playing an incredibly melancholy tune (28 piano) and singing (it's like over 40 don't even go there) and breaking everyone's heart in the building.

[ dumage is sitting across the bar on a stool, with a frilly drink in front of her, half-listening. there's no one sitting beside her, although the young bartender keeps giving her nervous smiles. something about the way she winks at him seems to scare him into near peeing himself though, so she's not engaged in conversation.

instead, anyone approaching might notice her glance over her shoulder at rafael's soulful interlude, and let out a condescending cluck of her tongue. ]

[Spike notices the click, and it makes him grin. He seats himself next to her and looks at Rafael, a little scornfully, then back at Dumage.]

[As soon as Raf's finished, Des appears just to lean on his piano.]

So Jade's a goddess. [He whistles.] Didn't see that one coming.

[ it's pretty readily apparent from the look he throws des that he's the last person he wants to talk about jade with, but he only hesitates a moment before saying: ] From the moment I met Eterna, I knew she was unlike any other woman I had known. I am sure all men in love tell themselves this, but with her... it was more so.

When she finally told me the truth, I was not surprised.

[ week two of transition time, and the dragon's claws aren't around very much these days. especially jack. so when kat actually catches him sitting on the hotel living room couch, watching a news broadcast, while gar sits on the adjacent couch on her laptop, she hops over the couch to plant herself in between them. and lands right on lucky, the cat, who yowls and goes to hide under the couch. kat looks back over her shoulder towards where it ran and rolls her eyes. ] Big baby. [ she then turns a chipper expression to jack as she reaches out to swipe the remote and push 'mute'. ] So. You gonna tell us what it's like, being a Dragon's Claw?

[ gar immediately peeks her head out from behind her screen, looking put out in the way that only kat can make her. ] Kat.

[Myri has been practicing her reading in a nearby chair. When the girls speak up, she closes the book and places it on her lap.]

[Spike hears him (listen 25) and slams his fist backwards behind his head without looking. He pulls it a little, at least, since he suspects it's not a foe, but even so, his fist meets fleshy human face (atk 23 dmg 8 subdual). Then he looks around to see the damage and stares.]

Right when I'd started to think you're not as stupid as you look.

[No one must have told Myri that she was supposed to want to be sexy on halloween, or if they did, she promptly ignored it.

[ shortly after team failboat has a morality meltdown, the dragon's claws have returned just in time for kat to locate a local news channel covering the incident. those who would like to gather round as they release information: that one woman, kitty bonquas, was seriously injured, but treated by clerics on the scene, several others suffered minor injuries, and one man, raoul jacobson, was killed instantly.

the police are looking into the incident, but at the moment, it's considered to be some kind of maintenance failure. ]
