First of all, in his invitation to this orientation, Sir Hughes didn't offer any clues as to the location of the Dragon's Hoard Lab, so you're all on your own in finding it.  A 13+ Navigate or even a 11+ Gather Information check will send you in the right direction, however, as it's actually pretty simple to locate.  However, as the squires begin gathering,  itt's starting to look as if Sir Hughes... forgot.  When he does finally shows up, twenty minutes later, he's coming down the hall in a pair of sweat pants and a white stained shirt. He mumbles an apology as he pats his pockets down to try and locate his card, before finally discovering it was tucked behind his ear with an "Aha!" He fumbles it through the reader, and the doors labelled "Biohazard" slide open.

He guides them through the bizarre multi-storied library and up the steps, beyond the models suspended from the ceiling that look like space age designs for jet planes, cars, boats, and any number of other things. At the end of the balcony he swipes his card through the reader with a much higher degree of ease and then ushers them all inside.

"Yeah, step right up, let's go," he mutters, making hurrying motions,  even if he was the one who ... showed up late. The doors depress with a space age his. revealing a clean white laboratory, with rows and rows of tables and lab equipment set up. Numerous knights buzz around in white lab coats, working under microscopes and on computers, conferring over a number of projects.

"This is the lab, where the Hoard does their research, most of you will never have to come in here, and probably for the best, at that" he says, waving a hand vaguely in that direction as he heads for the left hand side of the room. He places his palm on a panel there until the red light blinks green, and then moves into the narrower space there - a long room with rows of labelled cases and cabinets with transparent glass revealing what's inside.

Excalibur. [ she turns the gun over, reading the barrel. she looks amused but also disparaging. ] That's ... cute. [ she sets the gun back in the case. ] Do we need to be field-cleared for our own personal firearms too, or just this one?

Sure as hell do. Think we're about to take the word of every schmo who waltzes in here that they know how to use a gun just because they bought or stole their own?

Good news is if you've trained before, shouldn't take more than a few to get your clearance.

I never said it didn't make sense. So, who do I talk to about getting cleared? [ she thumbs the clasps of the briefcase, considering it. can't hurt to have a secondary sidearm. ]

Any of the big guys in the Dragon's Hide. Sir Dovan, Luthir, Fred Jr... there's usually one of 'em around the training rooms.

Someone should really tell him the "junior" doesn't do him any favors. [ just saying when you list a big guy with the name junior in his name ... but seriously who does that after age 6. ] I'll see about getting in touch with them. That mean we're squared away here?

You go tell him that, see how fast it gets around that you're getting smart with Wynn's relatives.

Sure. There's a slew of 'em, though Freddie Boy's the newest and greenest of the bunch. And somehow one of those in charge of training already.

Doesn't nepotism go against some kind of oath?

Funny how that works. Almost as if our fearless leader weren't perfect either.

So, you do? Trust him. I got the impression not many people saw too much of the guy.
