Unlike the grandiose nature of the squiring ceremony each Knight undergoes upon their initial entrance into the Knighthood, the graduation to Full Knight status takes place in a much more intimate affair, between the Knight, their mentor, invited friends, and the members of the sect to which they will be inducted. There's no pompous music, no stolid rank and file, no elaborate march.

Hasmed, Wynn, and Koraith wait up at the front of the room for Finnick to approach them, but the attitude of the ceremony is much more relaxed, full of smiles and light conversation on all sides. Of course, when Wynn speaks, people still hush. It's just how he rolls.

"Sir Finnick Odair, please kneel."

Finnick! Congratulations! [ buffy comes up smiling brightly. she digs around in her purse for a minute before producing a little purple envelope. yep. ] I got you a card. The more of these I go to, the more they seem like a Hallmark occasion. I mean, they didn't really have a "congratulations on getting knighted" section, so I just went with the graduation kind. [ quick nod. ]

Well, all the rest said like "Class of 2013" and today's all about you, not about a whole big group chock full of solidarity. So, almost like a birthday! Besides, it's like that movie thingy. See? Like that's supposed to be 20th century, and - [ she points to the design on the front, clearly excited about her brilliant choice. ]

I'm glad. [ her smile brightens because senpai noticed her but she deflects quickly enough, punching him lightly on the arm. ] So. Feel any different all knightly and stuff?

Does burdened by armor count as knightly? [he chuckles for a moment, but then answers more seriously,] I don't think it's all sunk in yet.

Still processing? I don't blame you. Something tells me it won't really click until we're all mission-y again.

Do you think it will make much of a difference? I haven't felt too different in status as, say, Dumage or Kat. Thomas and Jack are different of course, but overall ...

Maybe. Maybe not. I mean, we're still just doing what they tell us to. I feel like now that we're knights, there'll be less telling us and more ... we're supposed to figure it out for ourselves.
