[ The castle can be a happening place, even on more mundane days. This log is for random interactions over the course of this month.
You are encouraged to start your own threads and tag around, and feel free to threadjack into any on-going threads that aren't specified as 'closed' in the subject lines since people can enter into rooms even in the middle of what's going on. You can also specify 'single thread', meaning you want only one response for all participants, rather than multi-thread, where a number of different scenes/threads can be done as replies to the top prompt. ]

Whatcha reading?
[Hope you don't mind being bothered~]

Just catching myself up on a few things.
[By reading through a compendium of the various deities that are worshiped here, categorized by origin and alignment. Apparently religion was one thing that was a lot different from the world he remembered ... which made sense considering the different races that lived together here.]
A lot of this stuff is really going to take some getting used to.
[Said as he motions to the open pages, one of which is some likeness of a Spider Queen Goddess or something. Except she probably doesn't realize exactly how out of place a lot of these things seem.]
no subject
I admit, you've probably caught up more than I have. I've been doing more of the learning on the job thing.
[Which has worked well enough, so far. She's been gone a lot, anyway.]
But I hope I never run into anything like that.
[Nodding her head toward the current page with a grossed out look on her face.]

[Vampires, werewolves, and hybrids he could handle. Spider goddesses? He wasn't so sure about.]
How's that been working out for you so far, anyway?
[The whole knighthood thing. Since that was technically her job anymore, right? Not to mention the reason he was here to begin with.]
no subject
I like it here.
[Said without any hesitation.]
I feel like I'm doing something good, you know? I mean, we can't get home, and without my memories, I'd be completely lost. And the people here are important to me. [She looks at him thoughtfully.] How about you? Have you been settling in okay?
no subject
[Which was a much nicer way of pointing out that he didn't exactly have much choice in the matter.]
I guess I can't complain. I've got access to one of the better libraries I've ever seen, a roof over my head and a steady income.
[He regards her for a brief moment, before smiling a sad little smile.]
Plus, like you said, it feels like the right thing to do.
no subject
Well, not the library, but whatever.]
It feels good to be doing something. Helping people.
no subject
[Which was actually his entire reason for being here, but how creepy would it be if he actually advertised that fact? Especially to her.]
So have they shipped you out on any of these missions yet?
[Because so far all he's done is sit around and play catch up in the library.]
no subject
I actually met them while they were on a mission in New Orleans. I helped out while we were there, and was squired when we came back to London. The mission there is sort of ongoing, so I've been going back and forth between here and there.

[Gurl you had better have continued your education or he will be shitting bricks.]
no subject
...I guess that means that I haven't finished yet, huh. That answers one question of a hundred million.
no subject
Yeah, about that...
[Hey, at least he wasn't attempting to lie to her face about being caught, right? That should count for something. He closes the book he'd been looking through, granting her his full attention.]
When I realized you didn't remember anything, I didn't want to just dump everything onto your lap.
no subject
[She doesn't seem mad. If anything, she seems...hopeful. She kind of gets why he wouldn't say anything right away, but still...]
You remember more than I do, though, don't you.
[Clearly, if he expected her to be in school.]
no subject
[Except it's unfortunate in all the ways you aren't thinking of, gurl. If anyone wishes they could forget the fucked up bullshit their life has devolved into, it's him. Fortunately, Elena was one of the few good things he could actually pinpoint amidst the sea of do not want.]
Most of it's fuzzy, but you and Jeremy--
[Look, there he goes again. Time to just shut up and let her do the talking.]
I'm not trying to keep anything from you. If there's anything you want to know, provided I can actually remember, all you have to do is ask.
no subject
Jeremy...is... [Her brows furrow. She can't remember anything beyond the name and the face, but she'll make an educated guess.] ...my brother?
