[Somewhere in that mountainous array of books is one Lila needs. Needs. She may be a teenager, but she gets her shit done and since her life goals include constantly surprising Eric and being knighted before Faye (never said her goals weren't petty), she does actually need the book.

Tossing Moby Dick on top of one of the piles, god it never got better, she settles in the chair directly across from him, clearing her throat slightly to get his attention, her eyes, one blue and one green, staying on him even as one gloved hand reaches out to tap a book at the bottom of a pile. She had walked past his table enough times before she noticed the gold lettering on the spine is the exact title she needs.]

I need this one.

[Really, Ric, why do you need a book about aberrant religious sects? Clearly this is Lila's domain.]

[Yeah, she looked like she was all about aberrant religious sects. Except if she was serious then that was probably an immediate red flag shooting up as far as the teacher in him was concerned.]

You've got some pretty varied interests.

I missed out on the white whale during school and this -- [She finally reaches the small leather bound book and curls her fingers around the spine triumphantly, tugging it out and dropping it on the table in front of her.] -- is for some mission research. Strangely I think it will still be more interesting than Ishmael's hypocritical views on insanity and the veiled homoeroticism in Moby Dick. [A pause, Lila shrugs.] Cliff notes.

No, I don't think world peace is on their agenda. I'm not really sure the Miss America pageant is their hotbed of moral corruption.

[But who knows. There's got to be a few screws loose in those ladies.]

I'm still working on what their play is, but I guess they've cropped up before so I thought I would google it.

[In a library, with a book. Zacharov plays it old school, okay? She appreciates the simple things in life. Besides, she is a little mafia princess, her dad did things old school, she doesn't need to remember everything about him to be naturally drawn to books instead of twitter. It's like muscle memory.

And she can google in her room on her phone, so there's no point to let all these books go to waste.]

I don't think so. I'm not looking for anything specific, just a general overview of the who's drinking the kool aid. I could ask Eric, but then he would think I was putting effort in and I don't want to ruin his precious image of me.

Probably because I've yet to have anyone follow up with me about it. [Not that he's complaining in the least ok. It's nice to have some free time to catch yourself up on the strange new world you just landed in.]
