The "afterparty" is rumored to be the real main event of the night. A black-tie affair in the lavish, opulent ballroom, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).

The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

Hope you aren't shy. They're all here to meet you.

Feel free to make your own open threads for people to come congratulate your newly pledged knight.

ooc; also if your Knight wants to get all gussied up, you can make a Disguise (Cha) check for how good they were at hair/makeup/stylin', etc! This goes for... any time.

[This time Brantley goes for something a little bit different. Above, he wears his usual white shirt with rolled sleeves. Below, he wears something more unique. It's a bright red, plaid Scottish kilt, designed for extra attention. And mysteriously, he manages to pull it off. Well, he is kind of good looking after all (disguise 18). With that kind of attire, he peacocks mingles around.]

[ lissa stops beside him with a glass of water and a friendly smile. ] Been in England for five of six months and this is the first time I've seen a real kilt.

Yeah, it's pretty rare in this part of the land. I wonder why, it's quite comfortable. You like it?

Thanks, I guess I should wear this more often, maybe with some facepaint. [Brantley doesn't watch much, but he do like that kind of stories. (know pop 11)] Oh yeah, have I told you look dazzling in that purple dress? Miss...?

I'm Brantley, Brantley River. Well, I prefer Handsome or Cutie, but you may call me Brantley if you want to. [He smiles as he launches his corny joke.]

I go to parties and flirt with people. [ which is putting her own skills lightly, but it's also... the truth. she laughs softly though, brushing her hair back. ] And I'm a cleric, I guess?

[That makes the two of them. The party and flirt of course, not the cleric stuffs.] Really? So, you heal people using prayer? Or are you one of those demon-slaying clerics? [Brantley doesn't really like magical stuffs but since most of clerics use their magic for greater good, he is okay with it.]

I just heal people, no prayer required. And I don't think I could ever slay a demon, either.

With that pretty face of yours, I'm sure you could. [You could say that she has... killer looks. Ba dum tish. He chuckles at his own joke.]

[ ha! she laughs brightly and makes a face like "oh you". smooth as fuck, isn't he? ] Why thank you. [ and she'll just lift her water glass in cheers. ]

[Yes, he is. His tongue is as smooth as baby's butt. He smiles confidently at her.] So, a cleric. How does one become one? And I hear their healing power come from their God? How does that work exactly?[He is genuinely curious.]

I'm not sure actually, I was born with the ability but there wasn't a real word for it where I came from so I adopted cleric when I joined the knights.

Born with it? [He pauses for a moment.] That must be quite hard for you.

It wasn't easy. [ it's a small concession, but she waves it off. she likes to give off the illusion that she has a handle on it. even when that is the complete opposite really. ] But I learned to adapt. [ her lips curve in a smile, a little haughty. because princess, you know. ]

Yeah, I understand. I also have a gift. Not as magical or useful as yours. But yeah, it was pretty hard when people called you liar, freak, or attention seeker because of your gift. But you slowly learnt to adapt. [He smiles softly.] Though, able to smell people's voices is hardly a gift. [His smiles widens as he laughs it off.]

Sorry, but smell people's voices? [ she is both confused, because what?, and fascinated. ]

Yeah, my sense of smell is involuntary triggered whenever I hear voice. For example, Wynn's smells like iodine and yours smells like cherry. [He calmly says as if that is normal.] The official name is Synethesia. It's not that rare. You can find lots of information about it if you do some research.
