The "afterparty" is the real main event of the night at every squiring, but tonight's party is a little different than usual - Faith has successfully lobbied (as in roped people into helping her decorate for) a Chinese New Year's party, or Lunar New Year, theme. With Knights from all over the world, it was easy to get input from those who traditionally celebrate the holiday, and Wynn is all about the spirit of cultural unity. Not to mention, the second of the 15 days of the spring festival is all about spending time with one's family and friends.

The lavish, opulent ballroom has been transformed, filled with red lanterns, peach blossoms, kumquat plants, and chrysanthemums. People are encouraged to dress in red to ward off evil spirits and bad luck, and avail themselves of the New Year's Cake, golden champagne cocktail, rice pudding, candied fruits, and the Tray of Togetherness.

As always, it is every new Knight's chance to mingle and meet some of their new brothers in arms. Of course, a couple hours are provided following the ceremony for everyone to change, do hair and makeup, and choose from the vast array of formal attire in the closets of the balcony "dressing rooms" located at the top of spiraled staircases on either side of the ballroom. A separate dressing room exists for men and women, and they include full bathrooms (with, thankfully, very modern plumbing).
The squires are usually among the last to arrive, and the ballroom is full to the brim with a fancy array of people, of all shapes, sizes and species.

[Felicity laughs in the face of danger. Or maybe she just doesn't fear the wrath of Faye. Either way, she approaches without a second thought, balancing her glass in one hand as she looks over the room.]

Not impressed with the decor?

It's alright. [Faye turns to Felicity with a natural sort of ease. She's more comfortable with the woman. Her expression doesn't turn any more friendly though.]

Just makes me want take out, honestly.

[She smirks a bit at that, before raising her glass to her lips.]

Reminds me of Chinatown. Almost makes me a little homesick.

Oh yeah? Maybe we should go sometime. I've never been. [That she can remember. But no really- she's never been.]

Well, we ever get some shore leave or wind up on a mission in New York and I will totally take you.

Who needs permission? Lila comes and goes for international booty calls all the time.

Really? I did not know that.

[She shrugs.]

Then I guess whenever we both have some downtime.

I'll hold you to it. [Its weird to make plans and actually look forward to them happening. France gave Faye friends and she still doesn't know what to do with that.]

So what have you been up to?

[She shrugs.]

The usual. Mission here, killing time in the castle there. Germany, it turns out, is lovely this time of year.

Lucky. My last one was just in London. I'm getting antsy to put those planes of Wynn's to use again.

Then again- we did get to fight a dinosaur.

[Her eyes widen a bit as she turns to face Faye. It's hard to tell whether she's excited or skeptical.]

Yep. Shot it right in the chest.

[She is way too proud about it.]

I think they grew it. It was in this weird tube full of goo.

[Her eyes narrow in confusion.]

I didn't really stop for the details. I was more focused on not becoming lunch. Seems like it though.
