Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[ rafael settles in at the table after everyone else is settled, because he went over to drop vi a kiss on the cheek and apologize for INTERRUPTING HER WEDDING, but now he's here, and he looks around at everyone with a smile. ]

Such a beautiful evening.

No kidding. I think Vi might have just gotten herself elected knightly party planner.

[ buffy's smiling as she says it, but it's a delicate thing that disguises her distraction as she searches the other tables for the bride herself, myri, and des. despite her anxious reservations about the day, buffy managed to dress appropriately for the occasion (unlike elena's knighting ceremony) (disguise 21). ]

I don't know that everyone in the Knights would wish for french fries. But some, perhaps.

Sounds like somebody's wishing he did the cooking as well as the entertainment. [ she crinkles her nose at him; the joke finally draws her attention away from her fervent searching, and her gaze hovers on him, lingering in the way that allows everything else to fall away.

it's only been a few weeks, but he's become her favorite song from years ago and she's left trying to remember the words. there's just something about a wedding that leaves her particularly enamored. there are a million things she wants to tell him about how it hasn't been the same without him, but instead she just grins and reaches over to steal a fry from his plate. ] But, hey, I mean, if you don't want them ...

[Despite everything, Elena still manages to look gorgeous, so that's something (disguise 20 total). She's even picking at french fries bc gdit she's not going to prevent people from having a good time.

She may have stolen a quiet look at Hayley from time to time, though, though it could just be attributed to new person.]

I'm definitely not going to complain about greasy finger food over something fancier.

[Thanks for the assist, Elena. Alaric is just casually drying his crotch when this introduction goes down. He will glance up to afford her a sheepish smile that is ... kind of forced at the moment for what should be very obvious reasons. That would be the ice water currently soaking his groin for those of you not following along at home.]

Oh? And how did you know Elena? [ unlike kat, rafael doesn't make it sound like a fucking interrogation. JUST A FRIENDLY QUESTION. ]

[Friendly or not, that was a complicated question for a number of reasons. Alaric deposits the wet napkin on the table in front of him and looks over at Elena because he's not sure how much she wants him to reveal/bring up.]

I was her history teacher. [But he had learned his lesson about leaving it at that, because apparently that was weird.] I also looked after her and her brother for a while.

[But that was about as far he was willing to delve into it because it was kind of Elena's business and most of it was pretty tragic, and she just cracked her first smile in forever. He didn't want to drag down the mood here ok.]

Well, it's good that you both have someone from home here.

[ she will drink her ice water and not spill it on her lap, then look over at elena. ]

I didn't know you had a brother.

I don't...really remember him. Ric told me his name, and it feels familiar, but...

[It's kind of terrible and awkward, but she'd come to terms with her memory loss awhile ago.]

His name is Jeremy.

Gotcha. [ she nods, setting her glass down. ] So you guys have been helping each other fill in the blanks?

[ raf cracks an amused smirk at that ] ... This may be a good way to put it, si. [ he loves u buffy ]

[ buffy's eyebrows raise and she almost chokes on a fry that she's stuffing into her mouth. she holds a hand over her mouth and chokes it down while rafael comments (she hasn't decided if she appreciates the remark or if he'll pay for making it worse and teasing her later). ]

She did. [ it's a statement of surprise and she nods, processing it. ] Well, that's sweet, but I'm not really—I mean, it's more complicated than that. I'm just, y'know. Stronger than your average bear. [ awkward smile. ]

But when talk of superheroes comes up, Aedan perks a little because I am pretty sure that Vi's education into the modern world included comic books or at least comic heroes to some degree doesn't Disney own that shit anymore?}

[Sure, Hayley knows people at the table. Well, person. She knows a person at the table and she's actually heard ... interesting things about Alaric. Those interesting things are filed under "He probably doesn't want to hear about that." which, considering most the people here seem to have forgotten most of their lives - she's been quiet.

Also, she is pretty much pushing along toward her due date and there's food. Don't fault the pregnant werewolf for eating instead of gossiping with strangers.

Though, she's not going to hide her smirk when Aeden asks about a cape. In fact, considering most of his their conversations she's glad that he's associated super heroes with capes.]

It would probably get in the way, anyway. [SHE SPEAKS.]

[With his lap as dry as it's going to get for now, Alaric focuses his attention back on this ... conversation. Or, the people involved anyway. He's been tutoring Faye off and on for a while, and Hayley definitely looks a lot like her so excuse him if his gaze lingers.]

Are you one of the new arrivals? [Well, "new" almost a month later. Look there had been a lot of them this last month.] I don't think I've seen you around.

[There's never been a better moment to make a joke about Hayley being difficult to miss... but instead she just raises her eyebrows in a 'seriously, I am almost two people.' look.]

I don't get around that much, [Because, if she wasn't a werewolf she'd be on bed rest at this point...] but I guess I'd fall into that newly arrived category.

[It's only slightly awkward to be introduced to someone you already know, but Hayley seems okay by it. She's been here for a month, so she's getting used to just casually ignoring any casual acquaintances. Honestly, she barely knew Elena. Now, Katherine was a different story, but one she's not going to tell here either. It's definitely not wedding reception conversation.]
