Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[ wynn stands at the front, right beyond the arbor where luthir waits, dressed in a rich-looking blue and white ensemble of elvish design. francesca stands off to the side (as luthir's best... woman) with a small bouquet of flowers of her own to hold. there's an air of anticipation as they keep watch towards the far end of the garden, where vi will be coming from. luthir in particular is fixated in that direction, a slight, contented smile on his face as he waits. ]

[ vi shifts nervously, worrying her bouquet between her fingers. she's not even nervous about the wedding, she is nervous about the walking. SHE IS OBVIOUSLY NOT GOOD AT THE WALKING. but she's barefoot, so maybe that will help. ] Okay, Myri. You go first. [ yep. gonna hyperventilate. she reaches out to adjust myri's flowers before lurching forward to grab her in a brief hug. ] Okay, I know I said go and then hugged you, but this time I mean go.

[ rafael settles in at the table after everyone else is settled, because he went over to drop vi a kiss on the cheek and apologize for INTERRUPTING HER WEDDING, but now he's here, and he looks around at everyone with a smile. ]

[ buffy's smiling as she says it, but it's a delicate thing that disguises her distraction as she searches the other tables for the bride herself, myri, and des. despite her anxious reservations about the day, buffy managed to dress appropriately for the occasion (unlike elena's knighting ceremony) (disguise 21). ]

[ vi leads the way, but once they're near the dance floor, she sort of veers off to the side and yanks him behind a bush. no, she was serious about that, she wants privacy. god, he's tall. she would climb that like a tree. once in private, she adjusts the delicate crown of tiny flowers in her hair and flicks an aphid of a nearby leaf, get off bitch, before she turns back to zarad. even if she weren't barefoot, he would be a giant. ] So two things, but before that, you're so tall! [Elena's not in much of a dancing mood, though she's put on a happy face, looks beautiful, and is trying not to look too much like a wallflower (even if she's leaning against one or sitting in a chair most of the time).

She's also staying away from the alcohol. She's probably still sworn of alcohol after drinking too much in NYC or something. Or that one swig she had off of Ric's flask at the ceremony was enough. So she's nursing a cherry coke, instead.

[Spike's not exactly in a celebratory mood, though he doesn't begrudge the rest of them their fun. But it's been a hard month, and Dimitris still has Thomas. And more than that, Dimitris is still alive. He doesn't want to bring down the party, but he also doesn't particularly want to socialize and act like everything's fine.

So he sits on one of the tables after dinner and drinks bourbon and watches the rest of the group have fun. He really is happy for the lovely couple. He's just... not particularly happy for himself.

He's extra happy for the bourbon, though. It's helping a lot.]

[Faye doesn't cry. She doesn't. Except when she does it out of anger over stupid guys...making out with other guys while they are supposed to be out with her. She feels like an idiot. And she can't even tell Lila because she'll just have to deal with all the "I told you he doesn't date" crap and that's not going to help right now.

She presses her hands firmly to her face, like that's going to just reverse the tears mid stream.]

[ des can't stay glued to his man's side all evening. feel free to accost zarad while he's alone on the dance floor after he and spike part ways, while des is still blabbing with buffy. or around the corner, where he's catching a smoke and watching the stars coming out. or back at his table which has been abandoned by people who've gone to dance. there's something about him that's just hard to look away from, extreme hotness aside. he tends to stand out in a crowd.

[Myri finds him while he's stepped away. It's not by chance that she stumbles supon him. She's been trying to find the right opportunity to talk to this mysterious (and very good looking) man that's taken Des' attention. Just after he's lit up, she steps up beside him, looking up at the emerging stars.]

[ francesca is doing her best to distract herself from all outside concerns and just enjoy this wedding. it's been surprisingly easy, for the most part, particularly because seeing luthir so happy and being surrounded by all this love is making her feel giddy, which tends to lead to more smiles and extra romantic behavior (boyfriend beware), further emphasizing her 36 46 disguise check for the evening.

at this moment, however, she'd like to dance, and keep dancing, so feel free to bump into her here (except val'drin and finnick, who have no choice but to dance with her).

she's also going to track luthir down and make him share a dance with her, as she was his best man after all. ]

[ val'drin is less impressed with the romance of the evening, more inclined towards finding the whole situation hilarious (luthir getting married). but he does love to dance, so he'll take advantage of the evening to be impossibly amazing on the dance floor with francesca (dance 36), even as he looks back over his shoulder with a frown. ] Is it just me, or is this wedding suspiciously lacking in a bride and groom?

[A wedding feels a little strange after all that had happened recently but at the same time, Rose (Disguise 20 total) could see the need for something to celebrate and there wasn't enough money in the world that you could offer her to miss seeing the look on Luthir's face when Vi came down the aisle.

For most of the reception though, she'll be sticking around Table 3 but she can probably be enticed to step away for a dance.

Otherwise steal somebody else's seat while they're away so you can talk to her. She swears she'll stop eating long enough to talk back.]

[ Rose was sure sharing her table with an italian pop star, who she... might even recognize. A knowledge (pop culture) check of 13+ is all it takes to recognize him as Rafael Giovanni, the singer who infamously accidentally shot his girlfriend onstage at his debut televised concert last year. Either way, he's remarkably friendly, so when the two of them wind up alone for a second, he'll hold out a hand. ] I do not think I heard your name, signorina.

[ after slipping off to the corner to speak with des and elena in hushed voices, buffy spends the reception looking tense and touchy. her fingers fidget incessantly, tapping on her glass or the table or simple wringing together in front of her, and she tries to keep an eye on failboat at all times as they mingle through the crowd of people.

meeting back up with rafael has managed to slip her mind in favor of anxious impatience and visceral concern, and the relaxed atmosphere of the ceremony has effectively been quashed. ]

[ after gay chicken abates over there, zarad wanders by and lingers next to an empty chair at the otherwise abandoned table buffy's parked at rn. ]

[In case anyone wanted a spot to scream at Archer for bringing a Call-Girl to the wedding, without de-railing any of the ongoing threads;]

[They occasionally hit the dance floor, but otherwise Archer drags her from group to group to mingle, always opening with some variation of;] - Oh yeah, everyone there was some, uh... SNAFU... with my RSVP. This is clearly my willing and un-hired date, Scarlett? [She whispers.] Stacey. She was just... running a little late. [Cough.] So, as you can see, I clearly have no trouble. Finding a date. For a wedding. At all. [Stern Face.]

[It's a very convincing charade, to Archer.]

[Myri's not looking to scream at anyone. In fact, when Archer ends up explaining himself to a nearby group of guests, she just calmly waits for the others to disperse before she steps up to the two of them.]

Stacey? You won't mind if I steal him for a dance, would you? [She puts a hand on Archer's arm, smiling warmly. She doesn't know him well, but there's been something she's been meaning to talk to him about for a few days now.]

[ it really shouldn't be a surprise that vi got into a heated discussion/first marital spat on the day of her wedding. this is the girl that said "i love you" on the same day she and luthir started their relationship. she's lazy, she likes to do things all at once. knighting + wedding? she's just getting it out of the way.

regardless, once she's calmed down and her face isn't all splotchy anymore, she drifts back into the party and sit. (she's tired okay?) yeah, now y'all can say congrats and shit. bring cake. tell her she's pretty. ]

She squeezes Vi tight, not letting go just yet. Instead, she perches her chin on the girl's shoulder and says quietly.]

[Just because she can control her empathy doesn't mean that she has to. She can feel a lot of strange and conflicting emotions in the group here tonight, but it's Vi's darkened spirits that have her troubled. Just gonna hug it out.]
