Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

That's true. [which reminds him...] Your birthday is coming up, isn't it?

[ she grins widely at the mention ] That it is. My, um, bicentennial. [ but she pulls a face at the mention of years ] I definitely need to find some way to phrase that that's slightly more flattering. If there is such a way to mark so many years.

The 175th anniversary of your 25th birthday?

[ she chuckles ] You know, drow don't technically reach adulthood until 120, so I suppose I shouldn't feel so old. In comparison to a human, it'd only be somewhere between twenty-five and thirty.

Hard to believe I was merely a teenager when I first joined the Knights.

I'm having trouble imagining you as a teenager, myself.

Gods, it was so long ago - even by Elven standards. I feel like a completely different person, even if so little around me has changed.

That is, until now. I honestly can say I never thought I'd see Luthir get married ... And I've never been happier for him.

I don't know him very well, but he seems like a good man. I think he and Vi will be incredibly happy together.

[/cries about the future]

[ y would u do that?? ] If he's waited this long, this must be what he truly wants. What he's always been waiting for. [ internal sigh b/c s-so romantic ]

It's terribly romantic, worded that way. [it's ok boo, he's a romantic too.]

I suppose I can just empathize, unfortunately well.

Still trouble in paradise?

It's, um, still quite complicated. I wish it were paradise ... I desperately want it to be.

I wish it could be, too ... you deserve that much.

[ she humorously snorts, but it's more to herself than at him ] And yet, it seems I'm the only one standing in the way of my happiness.

I suppose we're all our own worst enemies in some way or another, at the end of the day.

I suppose you're right. [ and with that the song cuts off with a brief pause before another one will start up ] Speaking of happiness, perhaps I should let you get back to dancing with your fiance.

Probably. [he pulls her in for a hug before setting her free.] Have a good night, Francesca.

[ she squeezes back tightly, holding on for as long as he lets her. she's not devoid of physical contact anymore, but she'll always love her finnick. ] Be sure to enjoy yourself, Finnick.
