Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden. The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat. Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria. It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth. It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

[Joking helps, and the smile that her comment brings is closer to real, if only briefly.]

I think the question is if he does, will he bother speaking the words out loud to tell you?

[Despite being in close proximity, Elena has barely talked to the man. But he makes Vi happy, and he's a good person, so she's not going to begrudge them anything.]

Nah. He'll just get this look. [She pauses a moment, then adds more for humor.] It's hard though because his stop that look is very close to his I'm happy look. One's just a little less constipated.

[Despite being Squired to him, Rose didn't actually know Luthir all that well, just the brief conversation here and there when he was around the Castle which admittedly, wasn't often at all. She'd probably heard more words come out of Vi's mouth and they'd only met at Elena's Knighting Ceremony.]

[Elena just shakes her head. She understands all too well. She's seen those looks plenty of times.]

At least someone can do face interpretation. I've long since given up trying and just hope for happy most of the time.

[Though with Vi the way she was, she doubted she was correct in that assumption.]

I've had plenty of practice. I've been with Dimitri for over a year.

[Seriously. What was it with Rose being surrounded by the stoic, silent types. Dimitri. Luthir. Davin?!

Rose turns her head a little to press a kiss to the top of Elena's head.]

You glad you came? [Not that she could imagine that Elena would have skipped the wedding but still, it was Rose trying to ask if she was having an alright time, all things considered.]

Point made.

[Dimitri was definitely the strong, silent type. She guesses that he's different alone with Rose, just as Luthir was likely different alone with Vi.]

Yeah. [She manages a smile.] I haven't bailed yet, after all.

[Which had been the initial plan.]

Well, if I need to start formulating an exit strategy, let me know.

[She paused, grin widening as she prepared for a joke.]

Faye's here. Bet if I threw a glass of wine at her it would make for one hell of a distraction. [Don't worry! She won't.

Well.

She so would but as long as Faye avoids Rose, Rose is going to avoid her.]

As much as I'm sure that would work, I think I'll go for drama free escape if needed.

[She looks a little amused, though.]

[She's got your back, boo.]

My alternative plan involved streaking but with Dimitri here? There'd be less blood spilled going the other route.

[Her eyebrows raise.]

And here I thought he might not be the jealous type.

[That grin? Rose might enjoy Dimitri's jealous streak more than was strictly healthy but it was kind of hot went he got all grr argh.]

First time I met him? [Here anyway.] Some guy spilled a drink down my front and then tried to "clean me up"... Dimitri steps in and I swear! I thought he was going to break his arm.

[Elena's eyebrows raise. So, in other words, don't poke the bear.

Though Elena highly doubted he'd ever really get angry with her. So long as she wasn't trying to cop a feel apparently.]

I don't think anyone would want that to be Dimitri's first impression of him.

[She almost feels bad for the other guy. Almost.]

[He was a teddy bear okay. A great big muscle bound, ass kicking, god-like teddy bear but still... A teddy bear.]

Right? I don't think he said more than one word to him but when you're built like a tank and can master the angry brow, I don't think you need to.

One of those 'if looks could kill' situations? I totally get it.

[She glances over at the Russian again before smiling back at Rose.]

You're lucky, though. He's a good guy, from what I've seen.

[It's not often that Rose sports a look of adoration but there it is as she casts a smile in Dimitri's direction.]

He is. [Letting those two words sit for a long moment before adding with a grin.] I should probably thank Captain Klutz for the drink spill. Totally worked out in my favor.

[Forever cute. Elena ships it so hard, okay.]

I think you two would have found each other eventually anyway.

[After all, the castle isn't that big. And they're made for each other. Elena doesn't really believe in fate, but those two is about as close as it comes.]

Probably. [A beat.] He is kinda hard to miss.

[Yeah yeah, she knew what you meant but still. She's here to provide the occasional bad joke.]

Well, you should go spend some time with him. I know you two don't get too much of that.

[She reaches out and takes her friend's hand, squeezing it once.]

I'm glad you have him.
