Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

What are you? [ yeah, she's not even subtle. ] Besides, ridiculously pretty. God, just so pretty.

What she means is- There just seems to be... more about you. [He already told her about how he and Des went 'way back' so...] We were curious.

What, it hasn't occurred to you yet? [ he smiles a bit, and then glances over his shoulder towards wherever des is. ] If not, I shouldn't say anything.

What, why! It's not like we are going to make fun of him. [ she motions between her and myri because they are the best obviously and they only say nice things. ] It's not like you're a cupid.

[Now Myri is imagining Zarad in a diaper with a bow and arrow. That's weird. Thanks, Vi.]

I'm sure Des has his reasons... [Sigh. Why must she love Des so much and respect his wishes? She is a little bummed because it could have been something fun to talk about to keep Vi cheered up.]

[ he smirks at vi at her suggestion. ] That he does, and I'm pretty sure they have to do with his idea of keeping me safe, so I'm not about to set off his paranoia alarms anymore than I have to. You understand.

Did he say anything about maybe giving us a hint? [IT'S VI'S WEDDING. YOU CAN'T LEAVE HER EMPTY HANDED. Someone double check the registry. I'm pretty sure "Zarad's Secrets" were listed on that shit.

Myri's just desperate to give her girl a pick me up tbh.]

It's useless, Myri, you know Des won't budge. [ yeah, vi quits. ] You know that I'm the only reason you even got to meet his de facto family, right? I insisted, aggressively and at threat to his life, that he invite you. To my wedding which, presumably, is supposed to be my happy day, but it sucks. And it keeps sucking. And now it sucks more. [ she slumps onto the bench. she retracts her clever plan internal compliment myri sorry. des doesn't love them enough to trust them like they trust him. that's cool. thanks, des. but she's not frustrated crying again. nope, she's not that pathetic. nope. ]

I didn't say I don't appreciate the invite. And I'm not trying to be ungrateful. Ever since he found out you're all up against bad guys who can read minds, he thinks it's better to just keep certain things out of other people's brains. It's not that he thinks any of you would say anything on purpose.

It's not- I'm sorry. We shouldn't have gotten you wrapped up in this. We were just trying to take our minds off of everything and you're new and interesting. That makes perfect sense though. Of course.

We all know that he loves you, I'm pretty sure whoever reads our minds is going to know the important part. [ yeah, she's a grump. everything went downhill after the cake. she's not drawing conclusions here, but cake = happiness pm? and she has no cake rn. ]

In his eyes, that's not the part they'd be interested in. You can ask him, or I can try to talk him into telling you. I'm just not sure going back on my word with him is a habit I want to get into in this relationship.

No. No, of course not. [Myri is not properly equipped to deal with damage control right now, but she'll try.

Don't apologize. A bride should never have to say she's sorry on her wedding day. [ he flashes her a warm smile ] And I don't blame you for being curious.

We're not so different, you and I. [ and with that mysterious comment, he wanders off as ordered~ ]

So he's either an aasimar or a tiefling. [ which doesn't come without logic, des flavored, to back it up. and vi adds to it even before zarad is out of earshot because she doesn't give a fuck about gossiping in front of him. ] Des thinks Blade needed Jade to work the Talisman, so that's why his god took a shine to me -- which is wrong, by the way, Blade needs me personally and it sure isn't for the Talisman. But those guys collect tieflings like pez dispensers. That's what Des would want to hide from them.

[Myri just nods, finding that logic to be sound, even if she's not that concerned by it. If Des wants to keep the man he cares for safe, she won't begrudge him the reasons why.]

Needs you personally? [Not interested in Zarad anymore. Oops.] How do you know that?

He told me. [ she shrugs. ] He made a guest appearance in my nightmare last night for a one on one chat before my big day.

[witchwoman]

And he told you that he needs you specifically for the talisman? [That seems... odd. Bad guys don't usually give that much away.]

Not for the Talisman. [ she makes a face. ] Hey Macarena wants me so, I dunno, he can see through my eyes because he's bored of nightmares. If Blade gets me for him then he can go home. Like... to his world.

[witchwoman]

[Myri blinks, shifting towards Vi and looking all the more concerned.]

That certainly... explains why he's so interested in you. I'm sure Blade would do anything to return. But why you? I'm sure there are others that could do the same for this drow god. [She desperately needs there to be someone else so that Vi can be out of danger.]

I put on Jade's necklace. [ she laughs a little, but it's such a dumb, stupid thing to have caught malaak'a's eye. ] Now he's hooked. I'm just irresistible.

[witchwoman]

There has to be a way to severe the connection, then. And we'll find a way. We just need more time.

That's what we're trying to do with Des' Hail Mary unicorn plan. Tomorrow. [ aka no time left. she looks down, eyes clouding a little. ] If we do break it though... Keijen is actually going to be against us. Not just regular against us, we're taking away his only way to get home. I'm not sure he's actually going to take that laying down.

Regardless of if Blade will be happy about it, we have to do it. Let him come. I hope he does. Because I'm tired of running. This all has to end.
