Now officially Knighted, Vi exchanges her ceremonial armor for a wedding gown, and the guests head into London to gather at the Chelsea Physic Garden.  The evening is warm and clear, and the flowers in full bloom, chairs set up on the main lawn with name tags on them for people to find their seat.  Gentle Elvish music plays everyone in, and at the front of stands an arbor covered in wisteria.  It's a remarkably peaceful setting, enough to dispel further some of the grimness of the past few days and create an atmosphere of smiles and warmth.    It seems to reinforce what Luthir has been telling Vi all along: that maybe now more than ever, this is the sort of thing they need, in order to remember what they're all fighting for.

I didn't say I don't appreciate the invite. And I'm not trying to be ungrateful. Ever since he found out you're all up against bad guys who can read minds, he thinks it's better to just keep certain things out of other people's brains. It's not that he thinks any of you would say anything on purpose.

It's not- I'm sorry. We shouldn't have gotten you wrapped up in this. We were just trying to take our minds off of everything and you're new and interesting. That makes perfect sense though. Of course.

We all know that he loves you, I'm pretty sure whoever reads our minds is going to know the important part. [ yeah, she's a grump. everything went downhill after the cake. she's not drawing conclusions here, but cake = happiness pm? and she has no cake rn. ]

In his eyes, that's not the part they'd be interested in. You can ask him, or I can try to talk him into telling you. I'm just not sure going back on my word with him is a habit I want to get into in this relationship.

No. No, of course not. [Myri is not properly equipped to deal with damage control right now, but she'll try.

Don't apologize. A bride should never have to say she's sorry on her wedding day. [ he flashes her a warm smile ] And I don't blame you for being curious.

We're not so different, you and I. [ and with that mysterious comment, he wanders off as ordered~ ]

So he's either an aasimar or a tiefling. [ which doesn't come without logic, des flavored, to back it up. and vi adds to it even before zarad is out of earshot because she doesn't give a fuck about gossiping in front of him. ] Des thinks Blade needed Jade to work the Talisman, so that's why his god took a shine to me -- which is wrong, by the way, Blade needs me personally and it sure isn't for the Talisman. But those guys collect tieflings like pez dispensers. That's what Des would want to hide from them.

[witchwoman]

[Myri just nods, finding that logic to be sound, even if she's not that concerned by it. If Des wants to keep the man he cares for safe, she won't begrudge him the reasons why.]

Needs you personally? [Not interested in Zarad anymore. Oops.] How do you know that?

He told me. [ she shrugs. ] He made a guest appearance in my nightmare last night for a one on one chat before my big day.

[witchwoman]

And he told you that he needs you specifically for the talisman? [That seems... odd. Bad guys don't usually give that much away.]

[graveflowers]

Not for the Talisman. [ she makes a face. ] Hey Macarena wants me so, I dunno, he can see through my eyes because he's bored of nightmares. If Blade gets me for him then he can go home. Like... to his world.

[witchwoman]

[Myri blinks, shifting towards Vi and looking all the more concerned.]

That certainly... explains why he's so interested in you. I'm sure Blade would do anything to return. But why you? I'm sure there are others that could do the same for this drow god. [She desperately needs there to be someone else so that Vi can be out of danger.]

[graveflowers]

I put on Jade's necklace. [ she laughs a little, but it's such a dumb, stupid thing to have caught malaak'a's eye. ] Now he's hooked. I'm just irresistible.

[witchwoman]

There has to be a way to severe the connection, then. And we'll find a way. We just need more time.

That's what we're trying to do with Des' Hail Mary unicorn plan. Tomorrow. [ aka no time left. she looks down, eyes clouding a little. ] If we do break it though... Keijen is actually going to be against us. Not just regular against us, we're taking away his only way to get home. I'm not sure he's actually going to take that laying down.

[witchwoman]

Unicorn..? [I DONT THINK ANYONE HAS FILLED HER IN ON THAT ONE.]

Regardless of if Blade will be happy about it, we have to do it. Let him come. I hope he does. Because I'm tired of running. This all has to end.

Myri. It's one thing to want everything to be over, it's another to invite a fight. [ she's not saying it like she's going to back out of attack plan wtf unicorns, she's saying it like myri, slow your roll. you don't hope he shows up with his power that almost killed rafael. you hope he stays the fuck away. ]

[witchwoman]

The fight is coming. The fight has been here. [Experiencing constant pain for the last two months will change your mind on what roll needs to be slowed.]

Could you kill him? [ she sets myri with a hard stare. ] Do you know what that feels like, killing someone? I don't mean watching someone die or being unable to heal them. Do you know what it feels like to kill someone?

[witchwoman]

That depends on what you mean. Do I have the strength or skill? Likely not. But would I, if I could? [She would. And she knows that's hard for them to hear.] i would see them bloody and buried. Blade, Chad, Dimitris. Mercy is a luxury we cannot afford now. I have never feared a man like I do Dimitris. Not even the blood priest Moncriith held such evil in his heart. And Blade seeks to cause you similar pain. Why would I not do everything in my power to stop that?

[graveflowers]

[ the problem is, violet doesn't want to kill blade. she doesn't even want to see him dead. does she want to hurt him a little for what he's doing? yes. dead? no. and not just because of what he so subtly implied the night before her wedding.

no, things like that don't have much to do with sense, do they?

with a sigh, she rubs the heel of her hand across her forehead. ] Mercy is the only luxury we can afford right now. [ she doubts myri can see that right now, not after what she went through, but vi's been living with these dreams for so long she's not sure how she'll even cope without them. she can't begrudge myri her rightful anger, but she can't let the woman think that watching dimitris die will solve all her problems, either. ] It's what makes us better then them, better than animals. I've killed people, Myri, something like that never goes away. The people of Andres deserve to have him brought to justice, but that might not include his death.

[witchwoman]

It's funny, isn't it? I never thought I could stand opposed to mercy.

[ she purses her lips as to not protest. myri deserves her feelings, even if vi can't validate them. ] If you say so.

I'm sorry. I didn't mean to- [Her mouth snaps closed. She feels so uncomfortable talking to her friends sometimes now. She knows that she's changed. And its hard not to wonder how they feel about it.]
